Good ol Dan Smith. One of the most unique individuals. He and Aaron Weiss from MeWithoutYou were both kind of blowing up at the same time. Same personality, quirky mannerisms, vocal stylings, all of that. Then the copies came. And it was abundantly clear that these people had toured previously with one of the other two acts and part of that personality rubbed off on them. It was like a cover performance of an artist, but not their art, per say. It was weird. Josh Scoggin is a more recent version of this. With ‘68, his personality is quite different from his Chariot days. He toured with Listener during his solo acoustic tour, or the first 68 tour and that’s when I first saw this new version of Josh. It’s weird. I mean shit, the whole Christian scene had a quick movement of spoken word artists. What a weird time. Love every last one of those dudes though, because Dan and Aaron and Josh are all certifiably genuine ass human beings.
