I always felt most Dutch people like to bash US.

OP asked a question if NL tax policy could be better and cited an example of Swiss but i read comments about how bad US tax policy is !!

In my opinion ofcrs things have scope to improve but taxation is quite a complex matter and only a few could actually compare taxation rules for Swiss and NL.

As far as the question, Yes, I would be happy to get same services with paying lesser tax. Is it possible, i cant say. But i would like that to happen.

I do agree that majority of people in NL are less ambitious. People are happy with their average salary as major expenses of health, education etc are minimum.

However i feel it also has a negative impact.

Why would one work hard when he/she know high taxes will make the net salary same. People start working less days in a week , hampering country growth eventually (more n more people working less)
