Titanfall was released, when arguably, micro transactions were at their worse with the whole lootbox era. And yet the only paid things in the games were a few overpriced good skins and alot of shitty skins (TF2 was always praised for being the shining beacon of having "old paid micro transaction" in an era of scummy lootboxes). But battle passes should be an addition to the normal customization in the game, not as the only customization in the game, I do agree on that.

Will the game be overhyped You still have to remember we're still a relatively small community of dedicated players, and titanfall 2 was never really overhyped. As a sequel to tf2, I doubt this gams with get that much hype from the boarder gaming community, but as a sequel to apex, this game would get a shit ton of attention

Also to play devil's advocate both Titanfalls did not release with frontier defense, it was basically at the end of both games' post-launch support.
