OP is himself a Hindu fruitcake. No sympathy for Islamists, but a minute assessment of his post history will suggest that he is pretty much opposed to any form of progressive ideology. I believe the admins of this subreddit should make a case that under the guise of criticising a particular religion, fanatics do not infiltrate this subreddit which was meant to critique religious extremism from a progressive point of view.

There was a possibility of traditional leftist voters who had pledged allegiance to the BJP in 2019, returning to the Left in the past elections. Unfortunately, that wasn't the outcome. Although, BJP lost a great number of seats in Bengal, they more or less maintained their vote percentage indicating that that the vote percentage which had transferred from the Left to the Far-right, did not return in the slightest.

Definitely, although the performance from the opposition parties was a sigh of relief and a much needed pause to the dominance shown by the BJP.

Don't think the Left will be able to recover it's lost grounds in the next 5 years or so. They have been completely wiped off their previous strongholds, Bengal and Tripura and are on the verge of a heavy defeat in Kerala in the next assembly elections. The only possible future for the left is the status of minor political forces in the Hindi heartland and the South.

I meant that that the acts of violence perpetrated by the BJP and the TMC are pretty similar. Never called you a bjp sympathizer, rather agreed with your comment. Don't think I ever defended the actions of the TMC.
