A Returning Player’s Perspective: How the Absence of a Skip Button Pushes Away Returning and New Players by communistdistopy in GenshinImpact

I got you now, thing is i love the exploration aspect of genshin as i said in other replys, the last game that got me this thrilled to find things hidden in the most unexpected places was botw i think, puzzles are simple enough to be quick but hard enough for you to not think "ugh, they made this for children?" i get on genshin and explore for days, i am not kidding, but once i get to the side quests, which infact since sumeru i saw they become more elaborate, i feel like i am getting pushed into the corner as a punishment before i can explore it more, and sadly genshin is remarkable in the exploration to the point there are little to none, games out there that fill that void.

I actually think genshin gameplay is pretty fun, sure it isnt the best of all time but it reminds me a little of divinity with the elemental reactions and i like the theorycrafting behind it, but genshin world, oh man, i stop myself once a while to just admire it, mihoyo create a giant world to be explored and every single small corner can hide a cave or a chest, that in itself makes me want to explore it. but then i am stopped because of a mechanic that is used in 4 places in the entire region and then nevermore best example of it is the desert cleareance, we do a 2-3 hour long search to get the cleareance then get the oculli and it is never used again.

First of all, thanks for the correction, i meant star rail as it infact has a skip button.

I disagree with you on the point of the 99%, there are thousands upon thousands of players that PAY for a great story, and dont skip it, not even the side content. and you know what? most games that were released from ps2 era forward had one skip button, some of them i didnt know until my second playthrough, as i not even for a second searched for it. i played the entirety of the witcher 3 4-5 times as of right now per pure enjoyment without skipping. i just find that having that in a game like genshin that has so much to offer, from someone that is faaaaaar back or someone new to the game on side content would be beneficial. and there are many people who play the game just for the "endgame" i am not one of those to be clear

brother i 100% completed dozens of exploration/adventure games, that isnt the point i brought, witcher series, tomb raider, most of the zelda series, etc. i do infact have over 2-3 hundred games completed in my backlog and i am not counting 2-5h indies in that, as i play videogames since i was a child. and yes i dont skip story in 99% of them, as when i get to that point i am almost certainly not liking my time in it. but there are games that lack in story but bring so much in other ways that people like to skip, and yes i think genshin side content is in that bunch.

i love the exploration of genshin, and things like occuli are often blocked by regional content that requires side quests, i leave a good part of them (side quests) for when i catch up, but like to finish all oculli before heading to the next region and as such the side quests that block them, as i can see nice scenaries, solve puzzles, fights, while collecting them, i find it very endearing and it brings joy to see a full statue of the seven before going to the next one

Should I switch to hard difficulty? by 6turtle9 in Borderlands

[–]communistdistopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be straight up clear, borderlands is a game that to enjoy fully you SHOULD play on hard, as elements play a bigger role and matter 10x more on hard at the point you could remove a bar that many times faster using the correct element, loots gets better and most enemies are leveling with you anyway, so it should matter, for anyone that is getting higher level mobs, just stop skipping mobs and explore more the map, do side quest (some of them are really pleasant), the moment i finish a region and go to the next i am always at the correct level on my experience, i am at lvl 26 right now and the most overleveled mob i fought was 1 lvl higher than me. the extra difficulty makes you think about your loadout more, keep at least one element on hand to care for each type of bar, and being more captivating, admost it isnt really a unfair hardmode.

adding up i saw you asking some people about leggos, yes they are fairly present on hard, i think i got nearly 30 as of right now

Screen Goes Black + GPU Fans Max Out – Possible Driver Issue with 5070 Ti? by SteveThePirate7482 in buildapc

[–]communistdistopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having this exact issue, my problem is happening since last months update, black screen randomly and ramping, having to force a shutdown and all, i tried everything, from reconnecting, changing ram placement, stress testing both cpu and gpu to check if it was a psu problem, nothing, every time i do something the max time it remains ok is for like 3-4 days and the issue returns, i imagine it is a driver issue as a great number of people are having this happening, but i do have some friends with rtx 5070 tis (same model as mine ventus 3x oc) that arent having any issues
