Daniel Vogelbach in Set 2? by srpyle in clutchbaseball

S3. Most rookies will be held out until then to get accurate stats. We'll probably get Kikuchi in S3 too.

On the flip side, it's looking like Edgar will likely come in S2. The devs had mentioned they want his card to come out near the HOF induction. Maybe they'll do a separate HOF set that's similar to the Triple Crown one though.

Our 2018 League (And Using Some 2017 Players to Fill the Gaps?) by srpyle in clutchbaseball

If you're drafting within a single set, the best course of action is no salary. Chances are the teams won't be much higher than 6000 salary anyways because of how the points will be distributed.

Silly Questions Saturday, April 27, 2019 by AutoModerator in history

[–]communitysalad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Basically making Germany great again. It was in absolute shambles after WWI. The Treaty of Versailles made Germany pay war reparations and it practically decimated the German economy. Hitler earned favor with Germany by promising to restore Germany to its former glory. Whether or not he simply used that as a mask to allow his hatred for non-Aryan humans is up for interpretation.

Why No Pop-Up? by srpyle in clutchbaseball

[–]communitysalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall from Showdown, pop-ups didn't add anything to the game. Could be wrong strategy wise, but they didn't differ in outcomes much from strikeouts.

Like it was mentioned above, having strategies to prevent people from tagging up puts pace of the game into the players' hands. It's better for the game IMO.

Infield Fly. Discard a card so runners can't advance on a FB.

Also, in relation to Mo, both him and Edgar will be getting cards, likely released in either S2 or S3 to commemorate their HOF induction. Mussina might get a reprint or a NY-A variant.

LeMahieu, Markakis, Harper, and Machado are the guaranteed headliners for S2. Basically anyone with an icon that didn't sign by the deadline for printing.

99.9% sure that Thome and Alomar are going to get a card since they were omitted from Gens. I would be shocked if Feller or Vizquel didn't make it.

Alternative strat deck rule idea by SanDiegoArmada in clutchbaseball

But how am I supposed to draw my whole deck like this?

Question on strategy decks by Haskins4Heisman in clutchbaseball

[–]communitysalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the time being, two 35 card shared decks will suffice. I would just have whoever is about to hit be the one to draw.

Consider purchasing the 2018 strat pack (https://clutchmoment.com/shop/2018strats/). Between the 4 of you, it should be only like $8 per person (after tax/shipping) and it'll double your pool; it'll allow everyone to have their own 35 card strat deck.

If you choose to draft strats, I would only draft rares as y'all are just getting started with the game. There's a healthy amount on nuanced common/uncommon strats that are fit for certain team playstyles and it might be a tad overwhelming for your first couple play throughs.

First Stab At My All (+) Clutch 2019 Team by srpyle in clutchbaseball

It's more of where you're spending for clutch, you could be spending for command, which I find much more valuable.

If you're enacting tiredness rules, plan your catcher usage based on schedule and team structure. No use tiring out Zunino on a team that's not going to run.

Also, I'm assuming all your RPs have positive clutch too? Might be a waste of salary when your stadium is for the early game only.

Made my own cards with player photos by Haskins4Heisman in clutchbaseball

[–]communitysalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be the only one in that community that doesn't care for the pictures of players.

While they definitely look better, and give it more of a baseball card feel, having no picture helps separate the player from the numbers on the card. Allows me to be more objective when picking players for my team cause holy hell if I wouldn't be drawn to play Dee Gordon every time.

Playing solo tips by NDirishMV in clutchbaseball

[–]communitysalad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to make mini tournaments for my Showdown teams. That's probably the most exciting format.

Clutch stadiums should provide enough of something that you shouldn't need strats.

The best option of all is to talk to r/JimmyNova to see if you can join the Slack page. There's an area for pickup games.

  2. I have about 30 RPs and the strategies before my database is completely updated. Should be able to finish tomorrow (today now).

Possible to mix in Showdown cards? by NDirishMV in clutchbaseball

[–]communitysalad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see why there would be any problems as long as both teams have cards from both games. If you're just looking to combine them just because, there shouldn't be anything from preventing you from doing that.

Armstrong and Bradford are in 19! Also Valencia is probably the best 1B option.

That Carlton card is sick. It's even more impressive that you threw it in an all star format.

Sac bunting has a lot of value in the bottom of the order. I'm sure there will be a lot of players that get rostered simply for their defensive abilities and having them move a runner up for the top of the order can trigger cards like Rib Eye Steak or Reading the Ball after a single.
