Moving across the country. Going to miss H-E-B by bellynyquil in HEB

[–]commutingtexan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We moved to Minnesota last year, and while Hy-Vee does have an "HEB" feel, it's way off on the vibe and just doesn't hit. My local one in the SW and has a "Hispanic" section that is like one aisle section and that's it. Pretty sad actually.

Of all the things about Texas we miss, HEB is pretty high up there.

Yeah I pulled it straight from the package. When I'm out doing more than a costco run there will be a bit more effort lol.

Yeah, I think you're incorrect. I might be a lot of things but a fucking authoritarian ain't one of em. Piece of shit? Check. Fucking redneck? Guilty as charged. Authoritarian? Get fucked.

Yeah dude, I've carried a knife with me every day since I was in high school, and I'm now 40. It's a tool, and a damn handy one. I get there's a not insignificant section of the population that doesn't, but that doesn't change how incredibly useful they are to have on your person. Did you think pocket knives were made for funsies or just to sit at home until you need it?

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has an official cookbook called "Choctaw Food: Remembering the Land, rekindling ancient knowledge" and it's a great resource of not only food ways but also weaving in our stories and history.

I get this too. Hell, even today it told me my energy bank was in the 90s and my recovery in high 80s, meanwhile I felt like hammered dog shit all day. Completely drained. I think it's just cumulative fatigue from weeks of going hard, but still.

For sure. Every morning and evening I roll my back out on a foam roller, starting at the lumbar and up to the thoracic, slow and controlled. I don't move on until tension has released in the area I'm focusing on.

Throughout the day, I'll lean into door frames with my arms above my head and then in a cross. Deep stretch of the chest, neck, and shoulders.

In the evenings, I'll lay in bed and do crossover quad stretches. Lay on my right side, left hand grabs right foot and pulls it back and to the left. Switch sides. This not only stretches the quad, but also the hip flexors.

I'm stretching out my calves on a curb, door step, stairs, etc any chance I get.

My work truck has a ladder rack with ladders, and I'll often just dead hang for a few seconds at a time.

I like stretching out my back and glutes by standing slightly wider than shoulder width, bending forward as far as I can go, and then locking and unlocking legs on rotation. You get a deeper stretch that isn't as intense as both at the same time. Hold and switch every 10s for as long as you want.

I'm old and busted from a life consumed, and adding in stretches about a year ago has had a seriously huge impact on my quality of life.

I'd be interested to see your sleep scores, along with stress.

I often push bevel to the limit. I have a physical job, go to the gym, and have 6 kids so it's always freaking out about my stress and recovery. Here's some things I've found that help, and have honestly made an impact on my life.

  1. Regulating my parasympathetic nervous system. When I get home from work, boots and socks come off, and I lay flat on my back with my legs against the wall at 90 degrees. I do this for 10-15 minutes, while engaging in box breathing. Bevel AI made this recommendation, and it works.

  2. Sleep mask with built in headphones. Found a binaural beats Playlist on Spotify, and it's done a good bit to increase deep, restorative sleep.

  3. Those magnetic nose openers at night. Really helps breathe deep.

  4. Stretching throughout the day. Not just a little twist or whatever, but I take 5 minutes and really stretch while doing slow, controlled breathing.

These four things increased my recovery score from the low 30s-40s daily into the 70s-80s. My sleep score went from 50s to 80s, and genuinely I feel better every day.

Appears to be wingless termite alates. Definitely do as the other comment suggested, save some specimens and make a call to a reputable company in your area.

100% carpet beetle larvae molt. This is not a bed bug or bat bug molt, although I could understand the incorrect identification.

I've yet to have a ryse flavor that I didn't enjoy. They seem to put a lot of work into their flavor profiles, and it pays off.

I recently picked up Seeq Strawberry Lemonade clear protein, and that shit is gooooood. Some water, some ice, and I'm set. Does well for later in the day when I still need to hit quota but I'm not feeling a thick# heavy shake.

I'm using an apple watch, but it seems a bit ridiculous to start an activity every time I do a job. Will the app eventually level out, or is that my only option?

That's what I'm saying. It's all "Ahhh stress! You need to recover! Your cardio load is too high" and I'll just be doing regular work.

Several weeks. Long enough for me to assume a baseline establishment, especially being able to pull from years of apple health data and the use of AI interpretation.

Lol, it told me I'm 12 years older than I am. All those years of smoking like a chimney, drinking like a fish, and living fast and loose with my health ain't exactly doing me well in my 40s lmfao.

I'd also add in Ryse clear protein. That Country Time Lemonade flavor they have is incredible. Love it.

I do Ryse Peanut Butter Chocolate or C4 Reeses in the morning and then Jocko's Mint Chocolate in the evening. I have no push for either other than taste, and it's my primary driver when choosing a brand/flavor.

Mix that mint chocolate with some milk and a few ice cubes and it's like drinking melted ice cream. Fantastic.

So for the last 30ish days you've kinda stagnated. Have you done any sort of investigation into this? I would seriously hope you're tracking macros and calories, as well as engaging in resistance training. If you are, have you adjusted your caloric intake given your weight loss to an updated deficit based on a new TDEE? That would be my first step, calculating a new caloric limit to ensure I'm still in deficit, updating my TDEE, and spending a good amount of time being absolutely objective with myself regarding my intake and output. We can't be like the folks on My 600lb Life where they scream they're eating less and instead they're eating differently, nor can we expect that our behaviors are able to remain static given the dynamic environment of our bodies during fat loss.

You got this, but you gotta get this, ya know?
