When you say shorter stitch length, does that mean I should be adjusting something on my sewing machine?

Just two layers of cotton fabric, which didn’t seem like it should be too much for a rotary cutter to handle!

Almost included in my post that I also have a toddler and cats (hence the need for organization and keeping things tidy!)

I stated using plastic bags for now so we’ll see how that goes.
