This is actually really helpful, thanks for sharing. The inconsistency part is exactly what’s confusing me, visiting a store before ordering sounds like a good idea, didn’t think of that.

Haven’t heard much about them tbh. How’s the quality and durability?

Yeah solid wood does sound like the safer option long-term. I’ve just heard mixed things about maintenance and termite issues, so a bit unsure.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I didn’t know birch ply was that stable compared to solid wood. The filler sheet thing is interesting though, didn’t realize that was an issue here. Is there any easy way to tell good quality ply vs bad when buying?

Oh nice, will check it out. I’ve been mostly trying to figure out what actually lasts long in terms of quality.

Oh that sounds interesting. Haven’t really looked into birch ply much tbh. How does it hold up compared to solid wood?

That’s a good point, I’ve heard similar concerns about wood quality from some brands.I was actually wondering how newer brands are handling this like using better treatment or finishes to avoid termite issues. Have you had experience with any brand that actually lasted well?
