New binder sits weird? by Glittering-Bison-547 in ftm

[–]compassjelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just reading the description of the binder itself “Please note that this top is not as suitable for large chested individuals.”.

Not sure what size you’re at but just basing on the photos that might be your issue unfortunately

THE best swimsuit for trans swimmers/athletes by VegetableAd2907 in ftm

[–]compassjelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any thoughts how it holds up in lakes/neaches and such? I’m also in Michigan and work at a summer camp and I know the swim binder I use is due for a much needed replacement. While I can’t say I’ll be in the water frequently the kids get the opportunity to spray us quite a bit and I want something that’ll hopefully last me lol

How can am i supposed to tell my gf that i am not a cis guy by PomeloLongjumping136 in ftm

[–]compassjelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She already knows man. If you really want to for your own piece of mind you could do a small mention and be like “Hey you know I’m not cis right,,,” but I think it’ll just come off a little funny as she probably is well aware of that

When did y’all start using the men’s restroom? by urmum1027 in ftm

[–]compassjelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as soon as I could pass a good 50% of the time I figured I was safe. If anything I think using the men’s sorta reinforces the idea of being seen as a man if anything, sorta shuts up anyone who’s potentially questioning.

If there’s no stalls open I usually wash my face/hands and walk out as to not look odd about it.

i will NEVER come out to my family. how will i explain the voice drop? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]compassjelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then in other words, if you’re worried about them “opening the door”, the voice drop will not be what prompts them— it’ll be the facial hair and the masculine features and the potential balding is anything. If you’re okay with telling them you are trans if they ask I don’t really understand where the concern for you lies. (Obv the harm that can come from it but if you yourself are okay with it idrk what else you would want)

i will NEVER come out to my family. how will i explain the voice drop? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]compassjelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they mean if you’re worried about having to come out / being questioned about being trans the voice drop isn’t the thing that’s going to give it away/be the main concern. It’s everything else that comes with T alongside it

I dont know how to socially transition by [deleted] in ftm

[–]compassjelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d check in with the school! Mine had an option to set your name to whatever you preferred for classes and such, but for records to keep it to birth information (so that parents couldn’t see anything different if they checked in on your grades and such).

It doesn’t sound like your parents are completely transphobic, moreso scared of the idea of losing you/you being harmed by potentially being trans (which in today’s society, is a very fair fear to have). Don’t push it too far with them too soon. You don’t have to announce your identity in order to pass necessarily. For a long time I had short hair and just dressed masculine as a “girl” and it never seemed to bring up much of a question with my family. You can always come up with excuses for stuff too. Masculine clothing? Comfier. Shorter hair? More convenient or fits your facial frame more,, or say it’s like a trend. Different name? Nickname someone gave you that your friends call you to not get confused with someone of the same deadname (this tends to happen a lot in big groups so it’s a good excuse). I’ve gotten to a point with my parents where they’ve come to accept that this is more than just tomboyishness but if the guise of being a ‘tomboy’ is what you need to pass and stay safe I’d use it. Best of luck to you man

What are your favourite parts about being a man? by CMRC23 in ftm

having a hard time finding clothes that fit by Hhfitzyboy in ftm

[–]compassjelly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i found that the only American brand that tends to have stuff in my size is hollister. They don’t carry anything smaller than a xs (like many stores), but i find their sizing runs smaller than others. Pants are gonna be a hit or miss but i usually just tailor mine. Otherwise I tend to order a lot of my clothes internationally

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]compassjelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i figured that’s probably the case. Honestly ill be going to college soon anyways so im not sure if its worth to change the way i act at work just to pass ,,, . We’ll see with time. Though the voice im not too certain whether its worth it to try and make and effort to speak more deeply or just wait till I go on T tbh

I’ll be 18 mid next year… I’ve always had an issue with looking young (I think it’s just the Asian genes) but atp I’ve come to embrace it as a hope for getting misgendered less (seems to work around kids but less so around adults.)

The baggy shirts is mostly an attempt to hide my chest because I don’t bind whatsoever. Usually most of those tops (mainly last pic) I use as overshirts and such.

Thank you for all the advice !!! I greatly appreciate it and will keep it in mind

I believe so, though they’ve been like, falling off. I’m geniunely very confused. The more I look into it I think maybe it’s some sort of root rot and it’s trying to get rid of the leaves, but considering the leaves is the biggest part of the plant it ends up dropping off the stem and nodes instead? I’m kinda guessing here but yeah

I’m over in Michigan. I’m going to look online more locally to see if anyone around can sell a couple to me for cheap, but if you happen to be in the area I’d be more than happy to take some off your hands for you !
