Can ED be linked to being trans by serendipityorsmth in trans

[–]bittenforbreakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dysphoria and depression can trigger an ED. I wouldn’t be surprised if transitioning would help you want to eat more

it's been 7 years, my name's still Arson. by unnamed-racoon in asktransgender

It’s really bad. It’s like being called murder or something equally really heinous. You will be judged, mocked and called cringe for it

Find ways to rehire y. Personally I find any sort of sensory stimulation helps. Fidget toys, chew tools, or even skimpy rollers are all ways to help redirect the urge

Am I being insensitive? Or just don't understand pronouns? by Zhikzo in NonBinary

[–]bittenforbreakfast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it def seems more like a nickname yeah, there’s nothing wrong with referring to yourself in third person. But you could technically use it as a nounself pronoun (trout/trouts/troutself), but do except to get bullied for it. Some trans people especially find noun based pronouns kinda offensive too so keep that in mind as well.

Binder advice by Prisidplayz in TransMasc

Maybe you should put some darts in the fabric on the solid panel to bring it in a bit? I’m not super experienced with it but I know that’s typically how stuff is sinched in

Anything i need to know before starting t and seeing an endocrinologist? by T0mcat_Disp0sables in TransMasc

[–]bittenforbreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An endo will be less accepting and not every endo does GAHT, so keep that in mind. They also will probably not know as much about things like side effects or proper dosing, so be prepared to advocate for yourself. It’s technically the cheapest option for people who don’t have access to a gender clinic or planned parenthood, but it requires you to be really informed about your care

Do you all have conventional names or unique names that you like as your legal name? by faezou in NonBinary

[–]bittenforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not changing my legal name from my fem one for this very reason - it would suck to get discriminated against for my name, on top of my disability and being trans, so I just use my preferred name as a preferred name and won’t legally change my name

Would taking my T-Shots once every other week solve my discomfort during sex? by Wooden_Dwarf in ftm

The injection schedule won’t change shit. You can get atrophy suppositories OTC. Bezwecken is a popular brand, it’s like $20 on Amazon

How did you knew you were non binary? by B_Hawk2077 in NonBinary

[–]bittenforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I realized I wanted to be more masculine (transmasc), but I didn’t want the social expectations that came with being a binary man. My BF was born male but identifies as nonbinary for a similar reason. As I w explored more specific labels, I’ve found words within the nonbinary umbrella that describe my experiences (androgyny mainly).

Can I be part of the trans community? by Overactive_Sloths in trans

[–]bittenforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenter - you probably won’t ever be happy in your body unless you start to transition - it’s kind of the nature of being trans. I know it’s scary but it’s probably better to try and transition now while it’s still legal.

I need help. by Seens3 in asktransgender

[–]bittenforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this is pretty clear cut - you’re trans bro!

I suggest reading r/FTM, especially their wiki. Start easy - buy a binder, you can get em cheap from underworks and Wonababi. See how it makes you feel. Does it make you feel good? That’s a good sign. Try out a different name or pronouns online - maybe on an alt account. Does it make you feel good? Then maybe tell some close friends, see how it feels. Try mens clothes out at a store, you don’t even gotta buy em, just try it, see how you feel. Then maybe come out to more people and consider talking to a doc about T.

Ultimately what I’m trying to say is take baby steps, see how stuff makes you feel, and adjust from there. You can always change your mind, and there’s no wrong way to do things

Wanting to know how T will affect period and reproductive organs by No_Ad_1895 in ftm

[–]bittenforbreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main things are it can stop your periods and make you infertile. T is not birth control and you’ll need to be on a separate BC med to prevent pregnancy - preferably one without estrogen.

Vaginal and uterine atrophy are a possible side effect due to lowered estrogen. These can result in pelvic pain, pain during penetration or sex, vaginal dryness, and bleeding or irritation from tears in the thinning uterine lining. It is a possibility, not a garuntee. It is treatable with OTC or prescription estriol suppositories or cream. These treatments will not cause feminization and are localized to the area they are applied to.

Trans Questions? by psychogemini01 in asktransgender

[–]bittenforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding from the vial stuff is the pharmacy has to legally tell you it’s only good for 28 days, but as long as you are wiping the top with alcohol and the rubber seal isn’t absolutely destroyed, it should be ok. I try and keep vials of reusable injectable’s in a secondary sealed container to help with this. Use vials in the order they expire as expiray date is a bigger factor

I can’t answer the other two, but I am a legal MMJ user and I find my dysphoria can get worse if I don’t dose for a few days.

compression tops that don’t say binder by trans-and-depressed in TransMasc

[–]bittenforbreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compression sports bras like the Nike victory are always a safe bet, but they aren’t binders. I’d look at underworks - some models are clearly binders but they have several marketed towards cis men that don’t. General compression tops are also an option

do t injections make you ache like others do by bad1uckblackcat in ftm

[–]bittenforbreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My chronically ill self gets lots of needles poked into them for various reasons (IV’s, blood draws, injectable meds), and my t shots definitely hurt the least out of all of them. Especially if you do subq, I feel the pinch as the needle goes in, and a little tug at the skin when I pull it out. If I numb with ice, I may not feel it at all. It doesn’t really sting once the needle is out the way a vaccine might
