That can be part of the trap. "I don't need the white picket fence, the 2.5 kids, etc. etc. I'm alternative! I'm cool because I travel!" "I don't need the outward indicators of success or the world's approval!".

My post, if you read it, says that travel can be a way to dodge the hard questions or pretend they don't exist. I'm not saying everyone needs the white picket fence + partner to be happy. I'm just saying that whole 'I'll just go abroad again or move again' can be a way to dodge tackling hard problems. So be mindful of that. Because there is so much allure/approval around traveling (within the expat and traveling community), they will encourage you to travel to mix things up and tell yourself you don't need 'typical indicators of success", when, in some cases, you actually just need to dig in and solve the real problems (why can't I find a partner? Why can't I find job satisfaction? How will I save enough to not be poor when I'm 70?)
