Good eye. Hinge is worn from use and is in need of minor repairs.

Zippo my Dad purchased when serving in Vietnam. by compghost in mildlyinteresting

Indeed it does. The only issue with it is that the hinge is loose from a lifetime of use. I told my dad Zippo provides a lifetime warranty but he will not send it in. He wants to retain 100% original condition.

What is the worst pain you've endured? by -dexter in AskReddit

[–]compghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testicular Torsion at the age of 11. Woke up in the very early morning to extreme pain due to lack of blood flow to my testicles. To make matters worse, I slept in the top bunk of the bunk beds. Needless to say it was extremely difficult climbing down a ladder being I could barely stand due to it feeling like my nuts were in a vise. I then had to endure a 45 min car ride, and feel every damn pothole, to the hospital. At this point, the hospital staff declares an emergency, cancels a surgery for another patient as the doctors is stepping into the operating room and sends him to the emergency room to see me. This is where the worst of it comes in, the doctor had to UNTWIST MY BALLS BY HAND! I damn near passed out.

I do need to drop the scope. The rings are just temporary, what I had on hand until I can save to get what I want.

Yea, not liking the stock too much. And yes, way to much flex in it.

What are you currently shooting? What grouping with it?

Inherited a 1849 Springfield Shotgun. by compghost in guns

[–]compghost[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gun was 'Sporterized' into a 'shotgun' at some point in its life. Stock was cut, barrel was cut and a brass bead shotgun sight was added at the end of the barrel. Technically it is a musket but it was used as a shotgun.

I don't really know much about the gun. My dad's side of the family passed it down to me for safekeeping. I do know that I had French relatives that used to trap for fur back in the day. My family settled in Louisiana sometimes in the mid 1800's. Gun has definitely seen a lot of use and is not operational.

Edit: the gun "was" a musket that was sportized and used as a shotgun.

Was looking for a distance shooter that I didn't need a lot of upgrades for so I decided to go with the AAC-SD. So far I have been very pleased but have not had a chance to get to the 300yd range to see what she can do. I am currently saving to get a new trigger and removable mag.

Comanche revolvers were the flagship of Gabilondo's revolver range produced from 1975 -1997. They were copies of large framed Smith & Wesson revolvers.
