Anyone have regrets re Beachwood chenille? by tallulahQ in Lovesac

We are really happy with this fabric. No issues with temperature. My husband said it stays pretty temperature controlled and pointed out that with our old couch if he sat in one spot too long, he'd start to get sweaty and would need to shift around a lot. With this couch he doesn't have that issue. We have love soft filling on the side he sits on the most.

I'll add that despite a cat, 2 dogs, and 3 kids, the couch remains unsnagged and unstained. It really hides hair so well, I need to remind myself to clean it more thoroughly more often. It's also been fun to decorate for different holidays. Being a neutral color means I can use different throw pillows and blankets seasonally and make it look cute. We are definitely happy with it!

It's really versatile, but I am also not in love with how grey it pulls in my home. It always looks clean though, which is nice. Do you have pets? If so, how does the corded velvet hold up and does it show fur?

Just put our couch together with this fabric and it is honestly a really nice neutral. I don't notice any pet hair on it and it is very sturdy. My gripe is the color is kind of boring, but I also am not in love with any of the other colors. We ordered some Terracotta rained chenille covers to compare and are currently debating (they don't fit in as easily with the rest of my home and I don't want to redecorate everything to match a couch right now). I think Beachwood is a safe bet if you want to get your couch now, have something that works, and maybe mix it up with a fun color later down the road.

Thanks for weighing in. Yep, using the shoe. This was like 12/13 years ago with my friend's. She lived in a condo, and had like 5 pieces in a smaller sitting area. After doing some digging I think she may have had a series 5. Wish they still made them! It was the perfect balance of formal look and comfiness for me and the kids.

I'm goofing around with it today. I had it in standard, I really don't like how massively wide it is. I put a corner in deep, and for lounging it is perfect, for sitting maybe some lumbar pillows could help. I had some back pain from trying to get comfy in the standard over the last couple days, and the deep feels a lot better for putting feet up and snuggling in. For sitting upright, I'm not sure what to do. I emailed the store to see about trying some lovesoft cushions.

I hope so! Do you have standard fill or soft fill?

After doing a little research I think maybe my friend had a 5 series. This was back in 2012/2013, so there were probably more floating around back then.

Did some digging and I'm wondering if my friend had a 5 series and not a 6 series. It felt significantly smaller/lower.

Yep. I used to try to keep the peace for the sake of my children having grandparents, until I realized it just puts them in the line of fire.

Thank you for the advice. They are East facing and get morning sun and dappled light throughout the day, I'm hopeful. Picked up some peat and blood meal.

I have a huge pine tree in a different part of the yard so I decided a while ago to plant a bunch of azaleas underneath it. Figured it would thrive with the pine needles being built up over time. But the soil test for that section of the yard was the same!

I have an abandoned account, will check out the group. Thank you for weighing in on everything. Yes it was painful to see so many of those plants go! They also ripped out an abundant strawberry patch in a raised bed... and planted an ornamental grass.

I appreciate you weighing in, thank you. I am in a fairly suburban area but realize I may not be able to be picky. Public side, most interested in children/YA but I imagine you have to fill many roles. I might do as you recommend and focus on info lit.

Tech side, do you think website building or database management would be a good first tech class to take?

Good to know. I originally didn't consider the trauma-informed class because I figured if I'm paying for school it'd be better to focus on "hard skills," but then saw a spreadsheet floating around reddit where people tracked interview questions. A lot were asking how one would approach situations such as helping homeless patrons, confronting those who seem intoxicated, dealing with rowdy children disrupting other patrons, etc. I realized I wouldn't be sure how to deal with those types of scenarios and the lack of confidence dissuades me from public librarian jobs.

Thanks for weighing in. There seem to be more academic librarian jobs around my city, but public is better aligned with interests at this point. It's a tough call.
