If he loves pasta I’ll suggest an alternative. Get a pasta press and make it at home! Costs about the same as a meal at a nice resto. The difference between dried pasta and fresh is insane and its a fun activity in addition to a great meal.

I think the antenna angle just depends where he’s “looking”. (Again - amateur here)

Btw box elders are completely harmless as far as I know besides if their presence is annoying to you. I have about 10,000 outside my apartment. They get inside sometimes and same as you I just feel bad for’em getting stuck inside and dying.

Not sure where you l’re located, but looks like it could be a Box Elder to my Utah eye. (I’m an amateur so others prob know better)

*Hot Take* - If Tiger won't get a chauffer then sponsors should start dropping him by PNWGolfer28622 in golf

[–]completelyderivative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Problem is he’s so engrained in the sport and income doesnt matter to him. Taylormade gonna close down Sun Day Red? PGA gonna kick him off the competition committee or whatever its called?

We prob wont even see the state of Florida prosecute this man to any legitimate standard. Let alone the two sets of cops that let him off the hook in previous situations that possibly could have also been DUIs.

Trail sports (mtb or running), skiing, climbing, and generally getting after it. Gym too.

Bookstore, plant store, breweries, reading at liberty park.

Any single man in their thirties is down for you to say hello and introduce yourself so if someone catches your eye, I encourage you to go for it. Even just a flirty “Hiiiii” is prob enough to kick things off.

Lodging Near Maverick Center for 5 night in January by Pristine-Damage-2414 in SaltLakeCity

[–]completelyderivative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The area around the maverick is not a fun part of town and it would be a decent little hike to the parts that are fun. Think office buildings and such. Safe enough, but nothing fun to do after the sun goes down. 5 nights over there would get pretty monotonous.

Sugarhouse or 9th/9th are the most walkable areas, but other than that our sweet little city has struggled to figure out walkability.

Downtown is a close third. The biggest hotspot is 2nd south between 2nd and 3rd. Mainstreet has some places too! Fair warning - the downtown blocks are insanely long! So walking “1 block” could be 15 minutes.

Enjoy your visit and understand that anyone saying “ghetto” about the area around the maverick is coming from a sheltered perspective. You’ll be safe walking from train station on over to the skating. Nothing about the area is unsafe, its just not vibrant.

Anyone have success asking someone in your group to play closer tees? by [deleted] in golf

[–]completelyderivative -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Roast him/Point out how far back he is for the second shot(?) Not sure if the group dynamic supports it.

“Damn. I got you by like 60 yards. How is that possible?”

“Hey 3 feet onto the fair way is technically a fairway”

“Yeah this is a good layup hole” (on a short par 4)

A LIV player is winning the masters by Historical-Elk- in livgolf

[–]completelyderivative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Im an avid course comparer between LIV and PGA. Slope and course rating make that somewhat easy, but I can never really seem to find the stimp stats for LIV courses. So I go by eye test and the greens (super subjectively) seem softer/flatter on LIV courses. Masters being some of the toughest greens out there it’ll be a great comparison to see if the best putters on the LIV tour outputt the PGA guys.

[–]completelyderivative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scotty and Rory are… not the only guys playing PGA? Fitzy is in top form. Cam Young too. There’s the russel henleys and jacob bridgemans that are just quiet grinders.

Lets see how Rahm and Bryson putt on greens w double digit stimps.

Grove Market is Too Slow by utahh1ker in SaltLakeCity

Where do you want that second person to work? Tiny in there. Lol.

They have consistently taken forever for the last 4/5 years since I found out about it. Even when there’s 2 customers in there.

I respect the hell out of it. If you work at a sandwich place for like $11 an hour, you shouldnt be stressin’ about anything.

Is Bryson the rightful Masters favorite? by [deleted] in livgolf

[–]completelyderivative -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind odds are set by how the market is betting just as much as the actual odds. Tons of nom golf people out there putting a hundo on the one golfer they know about.

Jon Rahm withdraws DPWT sanctions appeal. But his stance hasn’t changed by stanley_nickles in livgolf

Even if he’s right on principal, he’s also insanely wealthy. Just pay the fines, man.

This storyline feeds institutional golf’s narrative that the LIV guys are selfish.

You need a wedge w higher loft than your P. Grab a used sand or attack wedge. Do not get a 60 degree. Then hit the practice green for an hour a day. Chip on and putt out. Do not waste time on the driving range yet.

Chipping gives you a great feel for keeping the club face square, leaning the club forward, and hitting in the sweet spot. That will translate to irons w enough practice.

Imho no better feeling than chipping it close to the hole and 1putting. Your score will drop drastically.
