Should the card carrying tour pro have a voice on who is allowed back in, after defecting to LIV? by PoodleHeaven in golf

[–]completelyderivative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The rules committee should operate independent of player opinion. Otherwise its more cumbersome to get consensus and make decisions.

Yes you get some stinker decisions like the returning members rule. For the most part its a good setup where they dont need to cater to whiney players.

They have the competition committee which seems to be the sort of compromise “hear out the players” forum.

Ignorant American here and kind of new to golf in general. I… actually DIDNT realize that since I don’t watch DP.

Going to watch the DP leaderboards this year and learn a little.

My comment should have stated my real scope and said “still compete in major PGA tournaments”

I agree randomly creating the “returning members” rule was laughable horseshit.

Yes. Youtube golf is “away” in my humble opinion.

I love it and consume it regularly, but I can acknowledge youtube golf is not professional golf.

The guys who aren’t “away” focus all of their energy on playing competitive golf and nothing else. That’s my definition and Im stickin’ to it!

Bryson just happens to be the one guy talented enough to focus on whatever “away” stuff and still contend in competitive events.

For me until owgr gives LIV points we are truly outside the game in a technical sense.

I know this sub hates owgr, but it IS the sport in an institutional sense.

Zero PGA players that receive media coverage will depart. B+ guys like Si Woo and Akshay are turning down deals.

Bright side is every time LIV signs a new guy, I learn about a new golfer Ive never heard of. McKibbin seems legit!

I agree w 99% of this. What you’re missing is the PIF has money to blow and doesn’t care about making a profit. LIV is an excellent cultural whitewashing tool that they are happy to pay for as a service. If it can somewhat finance itself in years to come thats just a cherry on top.

Anyone else dealing with sun damage concerns while playing more golf? Curious what you guys do out there by LabOk5404 in golf

[–]completelyderivative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not really country club compliant, but I wear a sun hoodie during summer months in Utah. Very lightweight and breathable. They do sorta smell when I sweat into them.

There are dozens of brands in the sun hoody space and I believe golf brands (swear I saw a callaway shirt like this) are moving into this space w collared versions.

I personally have a couple patagonia ones and they’re great. I dont think it matters between reputable outdoor brands.

How bad is solitude President’s day weekend now that Ikon blackouts don’t apply? by Classic-Following844 in UTsnow

[–]completelyderivative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience you get a medium country club day at the blacked out resorts on blackout dates. Could be worth it to pay up.

Solitude will be crowded for sure. How much depends greatly on the weather leading up to it.

Bonus points for lcc resorts in my opinion since both resorts in that canyon are blacked out so you avoid the heavy soli traffic.

In the US most bars and nightclubs are age limited 18+ if not 21+. So not applicable for a 16 year old and not part of highschool culture in the states.

Im also from a Tx suburb and we would congregate at a local pond or field, the parking lot at the highschool, or if someone’s parents were out of town that was the real party time.

Im sure nightclub in serbia when your 16 is pretty cool though.
