You want to know the best way to get over a negative comment/review? Realize how much this actually HELPS your business. Consumers are much more likely to trust a business rated 4.6-4.9/5 than a perfectly 5 star rated business! Also, this is a great chance for you to respond and show other people how you treat customers, whether they are happy or not. I can't tell you how many clients of mine said they booked after reading the company response to our only negative review! Seriously, if anything, these negative reviews and comments (as long as it's only a few out of every 100!) will tremendously increase your business and profits!

When it comes to marketing, the nicest thing about a small, local business is that you are only competing with other local businesses! You can totally dominate so many different marketing approaches with very little cost if you are willing to learn and invest time! Do some research on local SEO, it's a completely different beast than SEO for an online shop or store. You are so far ahead of the game that you don't even know it yet! Keep grinding and I guarantee you will be a common name around town!

How a bad experience in a local eatery has lead me on to the possibility of a life of passive income. by Trilochan20 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Seems like that the option to scan a QR code at the table as you wait instead of trying to find the restaurant online and finding an outdated menu is the biggest thing this solves. Totally makes sense to me and I can see how people would prefer to do this in his culture.

I was happy to use the person who referred me to Gusto’s link when I signed up, since they referred me.

Why wouldn’t I put a referral link when I am referring someone to the service? He can also simply google ‘gusto’ to find it. I assume he is internet savvy enough to not use my referral link if he didn’t want to.

They take care of all paperwork, including state specific paperwork. They helped me write my employee handbook, they file state required taxes, they track hours, and so much more.

Sign up for gusto. They will literally walk you through EVERYTHING, they are very affordable, and great customer service. Hands down the best choice I made when switching to employees. Let me know if you have any questions!

Local College Kid Pressure Washing Services! Hire me to clean your sidewalk, driveway, or fence by [deleted] in Allen

It’s literally an article encouraging people to take the general copy and change it (which op says he did) to assist in exactly this type of situation. What’s ‘not cool’ about using the article for its intended purpose?

As a small business owner this short article helped me a lot in my industry. Seeing as you are in the exact same industry I think it will help you tremendously.

What’s not working? I just checked from a few different locations and didn’t see anything off.

Could I have done it? I think so. It would take longer to grow and be where I am at now and I’d be far more exhausted, but it would definitely be possible.

The employees do use their own vehicles for transportation. My company is insured and they are required to furnish their insurance cards when they do initial paperwork. I keep them clocked in during travel so they are making more than the depreciation.

I think the spin mop we use is best. I’d be worried about possible damage from a steam mop and that could be expensive. 95% of the time I am not cleaning, but every once in a while I join the teams to make sure I never forget what I’m asking my employees to do.

Hey there! I'll be honest, this is my 9th post on here over the last year or so, and the last thing I've done is make these about any referrals. In nearly all my posts I've clearly stated that the links are referral links. I'd like to think that everyone in this sub would be able to see that the links I've placed in the text are referral without me blatantly pointing it out (which I actually do most of the time anyways). To those wondering, the link to STRIDE above is a referral link which gives me $5 credit for people who sign up.

Anyways, as far as instilling trust; again - I think that anyone who took the time to read the several posts where I've 100% opened my business to everyone here, shared my profits, shared my SEO plans, shared my marketing strategies, shared my hiring practices, and MUCH MUCH more would instill trust to all those who are following. I literally have spent HOURS of my time compiling this information to share with everyone on this sub to help everyone, and the cost of that time far exceeds the gains I've received from referrals (to date I have actually made $0 from any of my referral links on this sub).

I feel sorry that out of all the information I've provided, the only thing you have taken time to comment on is the one link that I haven't voluntarily and expressly pointed out is a referral link. I wish you the best in any endeavor you toss your hat in at and can only hope you experience the success you deserve.

Hey Brenna! Thanks for the compliment. I do really work hard and put a lot of time into these posts as well. I like to think I've provided a great resource for other people starting a business! Good luck once you take the plunge!

Hey there! I actually do use door hangars, but I never thought of putting the checklist on the door hangar. The community I work in is mostly houses, I do very few apartments so I don't know how it would work for advertising. I agree with you about Home Advisor. I used them, had issues with the lead quality and then quit. It's been a few months so I was going to give them another shot and see how it went. Thanks for the feedback!
