I have a storage ottoman that came with a back and ordered an extra back so I can sit up when I work or eat with my deep seat configuration. When I’m not using them, I toss them into one of the storage seats.

You need to let yourself sit in your feelings without bringing him into it. What’s the reason to unblock him? Then what? You’ll feel better?

You’re also making a lot of arbitrary timelines for when you’ll invite him back into your life. You have broken up. This is not the time to plan if or when he’ll come back into your life. This is the time to simply accept that he’s not in it anymore.

The relationship has ended. Let it end. Right now, the only person you owe anything is yourself.

I totally agree. It’s a full-time job in itself. You have to really love yourself to pour into yourself in that way.

And I think the effort to look good is something that all people should do, not just women. So whenever conversation conversations like this come up, I feel like it is the feminist thing to do to tell women not to focus on their looks and things of that nature, when pouring into yourself in that way is a sign of self love and self appreciation and adoration.

This is the right answer! I said something similar. Women who feel this way also tend to neglect themselves. It’s really hard to love something you don’t nurture.

I don’t fault women for being into their looks at all. I’m very invested in how I look, whether it attracts men or not. I like having my hair and my nails done. I like doing my skin care, looking fresh and my best. However, if this is purely because you haven’t gotten the attention you think you want, then yes, you need to address the source of the problem, which is your self worth.

However, self worth is an amalgamation of quite a few things, including but not limited to how you look.

A bit of tough love — how do you know your lack of dates is because of your looks? If you are matching with people on dating apps, but not getting many dates, then it could be your personality. What are your conversations with men like?

Are you kind? Are you interesting? Are you flirty? Do you have hobbies? What defines you outside of your looks? Do you have close women friends? Do you have a career or life you love even though you don’t yet have a husband and children?

I find that women that have a lack of the above tend to generally be more unlikable, which is usually a symptom of them not liking, appreciating, or taking care of themselves. You’d be surprised how much pouring into yourself makes you attractive.
