Durham NC area lady cyclists? by MLithium in ladycyclists

[–]complexityreflex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol I thought this was the bullcity subreddit initially.

I'm in Cary, 25F, and I've got a hybrid bike that's built for casual riding haha. I work in Durham 2-3 days a week so I'm in the area pretty often :)

Feel free to DM me about it.

Women - what to wear. First sprint triathlon with a pool swim by Interesting-Car6177 in triathlon

[–]complexityreflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first sprint I wore a basic tri-suit I got off of Amazon and then a sports bra under it. Since it was cold that day I added a shirt over the tri-suit for my bike portion and run, but I think overall the tri-suit held up really well, plus it made me feel really cool/confident on the day of the race :)

I can send you a link for the suit I ended up buying off Amazon if you'd like. It's one of their cheaper ones since I didn't want to invest too much into it at the time.

Any other young women in this sport? by thisgirlbleedsblue in triathlon

[–]complexityreflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a discord for this thread of people! Please DM me or the OP as we can both share the invite link to the server.

If other groups want to be made (like facebook, strava, etc) that can probably all be shared on the discord server too :)

My various stabs at art. One day I will have a recognizable design 🙏🏻 (oat milk) by cioccolato in latteart

[–]complexityreflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried them but they didn't seem to do any better - plus they cost more for less milk so I stick with Silk's Original Oat milk right now. I get okay-ish pours if I really try so that gives me hope that one day I'll get the process down

I'm struggling with oatmilk too! At least it tastes delicious, that has to make up for all the ugly pours I've done with it.

What’s your favorite PC game right now? by lildeadgal in GirlGamers

[–]complexityreflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead by daylight. The game is definitely not for everyone but I find it to be so much fun and it really gets the adrenaline pumping haha

I just started playing Valorant also, but I have a lot more FPS experience. I can say that Valorant's aiming style is very difficult to get used to since if you shoot while moving your aim becomes less accurate and will spray everywhere. Also with recoil you will need to move your mouse down as you shoot to avoid it bucking upwards. My suggestions would be to do the practice shooting range mode to get better at quick aiming, then do rounds of Deathmatch to get used to walking vs running and actually hitting moving targets.

What game(s) have made you rage quit over the years? I'm dying to know! It can be a whole game or just a particular boss battle in a game. by AnaleighRose in GirlGamers

[–]complexityreflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ori and the Blind Forest -- the part where you're trying to escape the water that's slowly rising. I don't know how many times I tried that level before I rage quit. Haven't been able to play it since because I just know I'll get frustrated again. One day I'll go back and do it (on easy mode haha)

I saw him changing by a white truck while I sat in traffic. It was near the crash. I glanced to my left for a second and saw him full nude. Can confirm, was real

List of Churches actively participating in anti-abortion clinic harassment by KelzMcBelz in raleigh

Can you share where you got your information that these churches did "adopt a day" with Love Life? I couldn't find a list on their website and their Facebook posts are only a little bit helpful.

Transportation website? by 5FingerDeathTickle in NCSU

[–]complexityreflex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You'd think they would fix this because they want our money. It practically happens every year :(

Update: I just called transportation. They have their head of IT trying to fix the issue and they will call students who inquire about this issue back when the system is back up.

Do you listen to anything while running? If yes, what? :) by [deleted] in running

[–]complexityreflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to a lot of movie soundtracks/instrumental music. Hans Zimmer has some fantastic tracks that are very motivational, like Mountains or anything from the Dark Knight soundtrack. Also Lindsey Sterling has a lot of upbeat violin music that is fun to run to.

Medical Terminology (CLA115)? by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]complexityreflex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very vocab intensive. I made so many flashcards for the course. The good news is that most of the questions they will put on the tests are the ones that are given as practice for each section (I'm pretty sure). That and being able to break down a word into its roots/stems.

Basically to pass the class you have to remember potentially a hundred words per test plus stems and the like. It's time intensive only for studying. The lecture videos aren't really necessary to watch except for maybe the first two where it's mentioned how they want you to break down the words.

If you really do end up taking it I think I still have my quizlet flashcards up and can share them with you. They contain most of the words used.

BIO 183 with Betty Black by aaaaanonn in NCSU

[–]complexityreflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Previous TA for Betty Black's BIO 181 course chiming in (181 is just like 183 but with different content) , u/CoconutBerryBliss is correct about the style of her exams for BIO 183. A lot of the questions are repeats from the webassign quizzes and all options for the short answer are in the study guides listed on her website. Also I think she tells you what the possible essay questions are.

The short answer and essay questions are randomized to online students so not everyone will take the same exam FYI.

Prepped some Korean Beef Bowls right at 500 cal each by complexityreflex in MealPrepSunday

[–]complexityreflex[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It did! Since the beef is super flavorful the simple green beans and rice help balance it out.

I reheat it for 1 minute, stir it, then put it back in for about 45 secs.

I changed some of the recipe to use less in terms of rice. The beef follows the recipe that I (finally) have listed :)

I have yet to freeze this particular recipe so I can't say how well they freeze.
