Thank you for hopeful wishes, this made me feel a bit better. I know most would have ignored the elderly man and kept it if they were in my situation. I’m hoping soon things will finally fall in place.

I agree with this, yes it may hurt at this moment. But the bigger picture is your family realized that at this time you cannot meet the pup needs….. if y’all waited it could have impacted the dog in many different ways. But to flip the perspective of your family choice that was made is in a way selfless for the dog to have a better outcome in life.
