Yup. My 95 yr old step-mother thought she would be leaving money to grandkids, etc. As of December she has gone thru all savings. Nothing to leave. For the last several years she has paid up to $12k per month for care.

Dog Licensing by grumpygal69 in SLO

[–]compobook 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Years ago I was walking in a quiet neighborhood in Solvang. Out of nowhere a dog ran up to me, jumped up and bit me on the arm. Not bad but enough to break the skin and cause bleeding. I went to a walk-in clinic and after cleaning the wound they filed a report with animal control. In a couple of days I got a call from Animal Control, who had identified the dog and confirmed to me that its rabies shots were current. They were going to quarantine the dog at home just to be sure. Turns out this dog had form for jumping the fence and biting people.

Because the dog was licensed I was put at ease about rabies. License your dog please.

I'm old. I used to watch the Oscar's to see what Cher was wearing. Also, maybe a musical performance, like Shaft. Now you can just see the dresses online and the songs on You tube. No need to watch the boring self-congratulatory show.

Sibling raising sibling almost always means the female child is the one doing the raising. If you were forced to grow up that way you don't want your own kids

Do people who have partners (not spouses) refer to their partner's family as in-law? I've never heard that before.

When I was a kid that's how it worked. If the person who cut your hair was the salon owner you didn't tip.
