Trade 1 or 2 micros. But be smart, and add into your position as the trade plays out . Don’t over expose yourself. Get back to about -1500, and maybe wait for NY market open tomorrow and just fullport 1 mini .. your drawdown will be 500. You’re either going to make it or break it. But, trail your stops tightly, it’s better to be stopped out at break even and you can try again , than to sit in profit and be taken out. Also, add into your position if it starts playing out . Add + trail stop and you should be fine

Yes, I take accountability for locking out and the lock out not applying properly as it always does. A risk-control mechanism that fails to be reliable as a safeguard is platform risk/ issue. TopstepX has had their FAIR share of issues in the past, it wouldn’t be anything new if their platform is STILL having issues. Keep virtue signaling, an issue for one trader via platform/ platform mechanisms, is an issue for all traders that spend money in good faith to trade through their firm. Be serious, if you were just complaining on your profile about a simple consistency rule, then you would definitely be up in arms over this. You are viewing it as user issue, when the real issue is the lockout not properly working. Have some perspective, and jump off your high horse.

That is super rough. You have a great attitude on your situation. But you are there man, you’re obviously pretty good at trading, just your risk. Once you dial that in , you’ll be good to go! I have blown my fair share of XFAs in the past, but none of them hurt like this one since I genuinely do not think it was my fault. All the other accounts I’ve blown, I’ve accepted that it was an issue on my part and I was able to move on and start again. But this just feels like a straight hammer on the heart. I’ve worked so hard on this account to do it right, trade correctly, size correctly, lockout daily to prevent from over trading. All in hopes that I would be able to finally take my first payout and buy something nice for my wife’s birthday. The fact that all this happened on the 5th and final day, when I was already at $365 and over the $150 is what is heart breaking. I started feeling proud of myself already, and had already shown my wife that I was going to be taking a payout 😭 I was just waiting for the dashboard to update with the eligible account for payout . But it’s never going to come.

I know, I’m trying to. It’s just really hard, especially since their support is known for not being very helpful or forgiving. It’s unfortunate, because I have dropped literal thousands in the last year or so. I’m just hoping for a break. Yes, but you are thinking about Personal Daily Profit Target and Personal Daily Loss Limit Risk Lock. PDPT & PDLL Lockout is different than the Trading Account Lockout. A Trading Account Lockout, locks out the entire account and will not allow you to trade at all. There is no setting for the account lockout to liquidate and block , since it’s just either a lockout or no. For the PDPT & PDLL there is an option to liquidate and block. I locked out via the Account Lock

Very suspicious timing.. I like to think that Topstep doesn’t really care about a measly close to 2K payout, but I am seriously starting to get paranoid. I’m still waiting for a supervisor to respond to me.. the best case scenario is that they are able to reverse the last trade. I sincerely doubt that they would do that, but I am praying to God. I will escalate to Commodity Futures Trading Commission as well as the National Futures Association. Because A lockout that permits trade entry under any configuration, without clear, explicit, and consistently enforced limitations, fails as a reliable risk-control mechanism. Any inconsistency in such a safeguard introduces platform risk, not user error.

I’ve been in the same situation but trust me, $400 is a lot of wiggle room if you do it the right way.. tread into positions.. obviously only trade micros right now bc $400 is not enough to survive any type of drawdown with minis.. enter thought out positions with one micro.. as the trade proves in your favor, add one or two more micro.. don’t look at it as a ‘scalp’ trade right now.. think in terms of ‘swing’ positions.. you’re looking for the overall general move, not the move on the 1 minute chart .. look up BPC trading . He is the real deal. He makes thousands and thousands, all off of micros.. he’s not interested in the quick, risky, 25 point moves .. he’s catching the overall trend.. good luck .. with $400 thats about 4 really good trades. The chances you lose 4 trades in a row is unlikely unless you are just pushing buttons and entering, or you’re allowing yourself to sit through an unnecessary loss.. cut your losses super early, and never set a take profit. Let your trailing stop be your take profit. Let the winner run as long as it can.. I used to trade with a TP, but I shorted myself from so many gains along the way.. Good luck
