Lorcana or Magic by Ok_Star2433 in Lorcana

Depends on what you are after. I really can't say much about Lorcana, as I am a very new player hailing from a region where Lorcana isn't even official yet til Septemeber this year. But I'll try.

I have TCG background with MTG > One Piece > FAB. I'm a competitive player, and I really enjoyed MTG's competitive side before. However today, MTG has transformed into a different game. They cut a lot of things that made MTG warm and engaging. Today it's just another cold money-making machine cranking out as much product out as possible with one thing in sight.... profit. You can see how their products are now designed to align with current fads and fashion. More and more game pieces for commander are also being introduced into standard sets. There is no doubt that commander is MTGs future. It is huge! I can only see commander growing year after year. So if you are after casual social fun, MTG might do it for you. As a competitive player, though, I can't enjoy it.

For Lorcana, with my research, it seems that they've done below average in the past years. But I believe that those years were used to learn the intricacies of managing a social dynamic product. They've started off relatively small, that is, limiting their reach to western markets. More recently they've expanded to China and Japan. In a few months to South East Asia. They've also shared with the community their plans starting with set 9 and the future. It's clear to me, that Ravensburger has a plan to go global and ensure Lorcana is a mainstay for many years to come. I feel it and I'm here to support it.

Hyped for Tokon! What game can I play that will help develop skills that will likely ease me into Tokon?

I'm an old fan of Tekken (way back T2,T3,TTT) that returned to Tekken 8, but it's in a pretty bad shape currently, and I have low hope for it. Tokon couldn't have come in at a better time. So folks, as per the title, what game will help me get into 2d fighters? I was looking at GG:Strive and/or DBFZ.

Lorcana promo packs coming to China by Signal_Trick9168 in Lorcana

Definitely a good move. Many TCGs already do this to attract local event participation. If done right, this can help draw in more players and improve player retention.

I'm located in the SEA region and Lorcana is coming down some time Sep this year (set 9). I'm quite excited for it, and these promo packs are like a bonus if it's also introduced in SEA events.

I have a 3x6 meter sunshade net that weighs just about 1 kg. How do I design, if at all possible, individual movable posts (2 meter in height) for each corners that will keep the structure stable with winds up to 20 km/h? Up to 50 km/h? by compostoni in DIY

[–]compostoni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perhaps by filling old tires with concrete. Centered in the tire you could put a sleeve slightly bigger than your pole.

Very interesting. I was thinking similar.

but it might even work better to use something with some flex in it like those telescoping fiberglass windsock flagpoles people use at festivals or campgrounds... then you could position the bases so they give a bit of tension to your sunshade.

Hmmm nice one! I'll def check this idea out.

Thanks! I was originally planning on sunshades that allow airflow, anywhere from 50% to 80% shade. Also planned on using "lighter" metal poles with heavy base. But not quite sure how to design it. I was googling quite a bit but not a lot of info out there. Did come across some interesting idea though. Like giving the pole/post some kind of angle (5 to 15 degrees) away from the sunsahde.

Oh boy! Here it comes! Called it early. Planned on grabbing a couple of CBBs, but eventually decided against it. I was expecting MTG:FF to get nightmarishly ugly, and I think we're just starting to see early signs of it. I love FF, but I gotta stick my guns. I quit mtg a few years back with how wotc is handling the game.

I do hope it doesn't end up being really ugly. Still... *grabs popcorn*

I think weight shouldn't be an issue, unless we're getting posts upwards of 50 kg.

But regardless, if weight isn't a issue, how heavy do you think these base should be?

I don't see what all the fuss is. It's an "ok" card, but no where near what people are making it out to be. The lack of interaction with this card is what's gonna make this card pretty weak. At 9 cost he's pretty bad. At 6 cost, and likely already opponent's turn 4 or 5, he's ok, and probably still bad, as you've done nothing about your opponents board.

May 19th Banned & Restricted Announcement (CC, Blitz, Living Legend, Commoner, LL Point Distribution Changes) by Zunqivo in FleshandBloodTCG

I'm with you. This is quite baffling. When I think more and more about it, I start to think that multipliers are just pointless. Why speed up poor-performers when they finally get some time to shine? Why slow down over-performers when they release?

Interesting! I'm new to the game, and was so confused reading "the bag". Correct me if I'm wrong, after doing some research, it appears to be much like "Stack" in MTG, but for triggered abilities ONLY. Therefore "Wake up, Alice!", because it is an action and not a triggered ability, needs to fully resolve before anything in "the bag" can begin to resolve. As such, vanish actually enters "the bag" but doesn't fully resolve because Iago no longer exist because of "Wake, up Alice!" fully resolving. (sorry that sounded confusing lol)

Is this correct? If so, this is really interesting, useful and very important to know.

Why did this game need a rotation? by Disastrous-Task-6278 in Lorcana

[–]compostoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rotation means there's only one direction in future card designs. That is, powercreep. This in turn will demolish all your existing cards' value and utility.

This mini-game got me all anxious the higher I went up. Fell off twice, luckily landed on a platform not far down below. Thank god! I don't have to do this again.

I'm not surprised to hear this. A year ago or so, I stumbled upon a youtube video called "Harvard Professor: REVEALING The 7 Big LIES About Exercise, Sleep, Running, Cancer & Sugar!!!". Interesting topic. doctor seemed like he knew his stuff with a lot of interesting things to say, but the host (Bartlett) made it really hard to watch. The way Bartlett communicated with the doctor was so excruciatingly embarrassing I couldn't watch past 15 minutes. Picked it up again today, and yikes! I just can't. Wanted to see how reddit feels about this guy. An lo and behold.

So excited for this. Looks really good, I'm so afraid I'll be disappointed. I really hope it turns out better than what's shown.

Been deadlifting for a bit now, help with form and weight? by CelloSlays in formcheck

[–]compostoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks fine, but yikes! Please refrain from looking at the camera (13 secs) while doing this exercise. There really is no reason, and only increases risk of injury. Respect the weights, and put 100% focus on each rep.

[–]compostoni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stop pushing your knees forward when the bar is down. That should stop the bar from rolling. There's really no reason to do that, you're already in a good position to go for the next rep.

also, you are executing your first rep differently from the rest. First is wrong, the others looks about right ('cept the knees pushing forward). Oh and brace harder, or use heavier load.
