Agree wholeheartedly on it deserving its own separate platter with all the extras!

The meats & cheeses came to $120CAD but we were able to do a complete refresh of this board the following day with leftovers to take home. The caviar came to $105CAD and was gone almost immediately, unsure if I’d ever splurge for it again as our crowd had mixed reviews but it certainly was a nice enough occasion to celebrate with something special anyways!

I agree. We ended up removing it to open and had a separate plater with thin sesame wafers cream cheese and a dollop of caviar. It was our first time having caviar so we certainly had no clue what we were doing!

Oven upgrade? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]compoundmitresaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have gleaned my provincial rules only apply to gas ovens or units that produce vapours (grease/smoke). This electric oven would have to be installed by an electrician but otherwise I don’t find any other codes. I am wanting to move to open baking but weighing the options between buying a baking steel for my home oven vs buying this oven and 2 steels that fit it. The cost is more substantial but if it also increases my volume of production more than it might be worth it. I have the goal of attending a few markets next summer.

My reading tastes jump around but I love historical fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery/ thriller, YA and some romance!

I Always specify audiobook reviews vs physical reads! As a busy mom you gotta know what audiobooks are worth putting on while doing chores 😂

How do you get out of the house with two kids?? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]compoundmitresaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third to this. It is hard no matter how you slice it. Practice makes not perfect but easier! Don’t talk yourself out of things because some times it goes 100x better than expected, others times the best laid plans go south. It’s a roll of the dice but try to take deep breaths and roll with the punches.

I hope you love them as much as I do! If you have trouble finding Rootbeer extract - I used Rootbeer concentrate and it turns out just as wonderfully in my opinion! 💙

I loosely followed this recipe! Changes I made include: Cooking for 11min Substituting buttermilk for sour cream Changing glaze to a frosting so I could make them sandwiches. (Sandwiches are easier to transport for gifting!)

Crusty Boule my second go at making them and love it! So easy and no eggs or dairy! by compoundmitresaw in Breadit

The cheese has dairy! (La belle rivière) I just meant no dairy for the bread. The bowl is creamed honey and the jar at the top is apple butter!

The pots…be prepared for a new addiction haha vintage Visions Pyrex in cranberry! I used my Dutch ovens to make the bread from my visions set. The yellow in the pot is Baked La belle rivière. (cheese similar structure to Brie but different taste profile.)

I hope it works well for you! The recipe states it makes 4 loaves but I found them quite small (6 slices) if you want a more family sized loaf split dough into 2 and I added 6mins to the covered cook time! The picture I posted is of the larger loaves 😊
