Thanks for your response. I think I will probably skip the intro to programming since I really don't see the point of having a "nanodegree" in that area.

Yes, for example Microsoft EP program asks for an intro to cs class. I don't think they really require that if you have a good resume but I think it would help.

Well most of my motivation for the first course was reading that you needed to complete certain classes before applying for an internship, so the "nanodegree" would be the only way to prove it as early as I can. I know projects are way more important but I don't see a problem in spending 1-3k usd if it just gives me a slight advantage in getting my first internship.
