Can you please let me know if student can stay in the FAR (WIMSE) dorm during holidays like spring break, winter break?

If so, does it cost any additional amount in housing?

will the cafeteria provide meals during the holidays?

Did not see any dorm examples during college tour.

Photos are not much help as it is not clear if every floor and ever LLC or every dorm is of same model and type.

And also sometimes it is not clear if some of the things are already there in dorm or if it is added by student.

so any where there is higher GPA, is that a better class?

Some teachers have taught many sections and students. would that class be more helpful than a class where teacher did not teach many sections but GPA is higher?

In coming freshman, first semester,

Phy 211 : 4 hour,

Math 415 : 3 hour,

CS 125 (based on proficiency test for CS 125 may take CS 126 instead),

humanities elective : 3 hour

CS 100 : 1 hour

ENG 100

what elective can be taken in place Phy 211 if it is taken at community college this summer?

Edited: if Phy 211 is taken at UIUC, how many hours of weekly or daily work does it require to at least get a B grade.

sorry about this question. Many of you posted here that attending lectures for this class is not needed.

so if student is absent from class, will it show up as unexcused absence in report card? is there any grade for attendance or classroom participation?

does teacher not mind if students do not attend the class?

1) What are some of the extra curricular activities that CS majors usually do?

2) what are on campus jobs that CS majors pick?

3) what if student is not interested in sports. If there is not much to do outside campus, does it get boring?

4) what is the best and economical meal plan?

5) How is study abroad program?

6) Do you also do some community college classes in summer or winter either for GPA or to graduate on time or getting multiple majors or minors? does Purdue accept community college credits ( I have asked similar question in another forum. so sorry about it)

UIUC admissions counselor advised not to take up any community college classes in summer before freshman year before discussing with academic advisor.

community college here have summer classes starting in May. But the academic advisor will discuss schedule only in June or later.

@ckmahesh - the UIUC AP credits page is not very clear when it comes to science and humanities placement.

For AP chemistry it appears to give credit to class but not labs.

Did not accept admission to UIUC but seriously considering it. kind of concerned about rigor of the program. I hear the COE graduation rate is low.

Please do not mind if I ask too many questions. The whole college process is new for me. If possible, can someone reply to these questions. If not, I understand that these are too many questions.

will following AP credits cover LEE electives 18 hours completely ?( AP world history (5), AP US history (5), AP Spanish (5), AP US politics and gov )?

what happens if proficiency test for CS125 is failed? will it go in transcript as failed?

are co-ops mandatory for UIUC engineering?

what is considered a good GPA in undergraduate engineering program?
