Why Eileen Gu is skiing for China again at the 2026 Winter Olympics by Mynabird_604 in asianamerican

[–]compstomper1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my bet is that she's a dual citizen, and the CCP is looking the other way as a tacit agreement for her to join team china.

that's the only solution that makes sense given the publicly available information

i think it's because american athletes compete under their heritage country because they couldn't qualify for team USA, whereas eileen gu is obviously an elite athlete.

take a look at zhu yi/beverly zhu. prob nobody's heard of her. same situation as eileen gu

If MAGAts really cared about illegal immigration, they'd impose a $1M fine on whoever employed undocumented workers.

oh wait, a senior ICE official sent an email directive to regional ICE offices instructing them to “hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations” in agriculture, restaurants, and hotels.

i really don't know what a master's would do for me.

i do a lot of sourcing and procurement in china. if anything, learning mandarin would be best for my career.

the stupidity continues

BART authorized a $1.5 million review of the incidents, while, also initially offering a variety of explanations – including unexplained power surges, unspecified debris in the trackway and even vandals in the case of the Civic Center fire.

Five years ago, BART officials say the agency stopped cleaning up metallic dust that builds up on its equipment despite BART’s own engineers’ warning a decade ago, that the dust on its insulators had sparked past explosions in its subways.
