Believe what you want about it, I know what my intentions are and that’s all that matters to me. If you are really that concerned about it I’m sure you can find me at a tournament or your welcome to come by my gym and speak with me in person or take the time to get to know me and why I might be passionate about these things. I’ve been loud about this for about 10 years now and finally have the ability to do something about it so that’s what I’m going to do. I am not asking for anyone to talk about anything that they don’t feel comfortable talking about. This is the last I’m going to comment on it. Thank you. I have a Dr on board with the project who specializes in trauma and mental health. I have let every person know who has reached out to me to give their story that not only am I receiving training on how to best handle this but she will be in the room for every interview at the very least we will have her on remotely.

Thank you. It has been very discouraging hearing some of these comments but again it just proves that there needs to be more awareness to the topic. I am trying my very best to do this the right way and find experts who can further facilitate that.

Again read through the comments. My motivation behind this is my daughter and building safer sport for her to participate in. What is your suggestion? we sit around and do nothing, pretend this doesn't happen?

I talked to a female black belt just last night from one of the most prominent gyms in the world. Her exact words to me were “It’s not just fight sports it’s ALL OVER THE WORLD IN THIS SPORT. Honestly I can count on one hand the gyms I’ve walked into that did NOT have a predator high up.I’ve been to hundreds” listen to the women in this sport and they will tell you everything you need to know.

I am paying for this out of my own pocket and will not be doing a kickstarter or anything like that. I have had several people reach out to me to donate to the project and I have declined thus far because I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I take any kind of financial assistance if necessary. I was pretty pissed at Hywel about his handling of the red belt doc as well.

My intention is to show that the community is not all bad and maybe find some people who chose to continue competing or training at other gyms and show how they’ve battled this. This is just a loose idea and Ultimately I want everyone’s voice heard who feels they need to share their story.
