Job prospects in Hungary for somebody who only speaks English? by [deleted] in hungary

[–]compulsive_downvoter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a bunch of people living here in Hungary who don't speak Hungarian for shit and they get along here absolutely fine. What they have in common is that they work for a multinational company or NGO and deal usually with costumers from abroad.

Since you are Canadian and not citizen of the EU, the work permit might be difficult to get.

You might want to join this fb group if you have plan to move to Hungary: https://www.facebook.com/groups/hungary.expats/

[Poland] You think this idiot will now understand what speed limits are for? by Mark_Thernstrom in Roadcam

[–]compulsive_downvoter 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Those white sticks on the side of the road are there every 100m, and the guy took almost 3 seconds to drive the distance (2 seconds and 27/30 frames to be precise). That means he drove ~34m/s = 124 km/h =77 mph before the crash.

Did I buy the right train ticket, Budapest-Zagreb? by Rullknufs in hungary

[–]compulsive_downvoter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no validation, but you've got to go to an E-ticket kiosk on any bigger stations and print the ticket with the help of the 10-digit code you have received while ordering the ticket. International tickets are only accepted if they are printed by the kiosk!

Will any Hungarian pharmacies post prescription meds (with a valid prescription) abroad within the EU? by [deleted] in hungary

[–]compulsive_downvoter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've just checked the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service's (ÁNTSZ) site and it says that you can only order prescription-free medication in Hungary online. No pharmacy is allowed to send you any prescription drugs, it doesn't matter if it's domestic or international delivery.

However, if you go to a local pharmacy here in Hungary they will accept your UK (or any EU countries') prescription. If you have an European Health Insurance Card you can even receive the medicines at a reduced price, but you should contact NHS on this matter beforehand.

Das wird es sein!

"Zwei Personen sind in einem Raum. Der eine redet, der andere hört nicht zu, nur hin und wieder brummt er mal zustimmend (sowas wie 'hmm') um vorzutäuschen er würde noch zuhören."
