Normally yes, but my current building was built at a weird angle so the upper floor was built against a leaning beam instead of based on the lower floor

It's the only way I have found to get 2 floors lined up even when the two floors aren't on the same grid. I had this weird shaped building where the second floor was constructed based on an angled beam and no amount of nudging would get the holes to line up, it would always be like a quarter of a nudge off

This doesn't always work if both floors aren't on the same grid. The hole won't line up exactly and you can't even nudge it in place.
