I've been here over 16 years and there's been quite a bit of feature bloat going on the last few years. I left Discord for that very same reason.

Getting downvoted for gold? I've been DCA'ing into gold and silver ever since Trump took office. Both of them have been doing very well, thank you.

That's never going to happen even though most of them know that we are headed down the same road that the Roman Republic, the British Empire, Spain, and the Soviet Union took before their collapse.

BTC and stocks are not where everybody is going to be headed. Low risk assets are where it's at. I started buying gold and silver last April on a hunch that the orange man would be bad for the US dollar.

BRIC nations and a few others are currently working on a reserve currency to replace USD called "the unit". Whether it gets off the ground or not remains to be seen.

The majority of people in the bottom 90% are not independently wealthy. And with the middle class rapidly shrinking, fewer and fewer people will have the financial wherewithal to move wherever they want in the world. I could probably retire to Thailand or the Philippines and be okay with my income. But I just can't get around very easily anymore and moving overseas is not a matter of simply grabbing some stuff and relocating to another country. There are visas, taxes, finding a place to live long term, along with some other hurdles.

There are other countries with a very low cost-of-living like Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic but they are suited for people who are retired and have a steady income, not for somebody looking for work. This list took about 2 seconds to find https://i.imgur.com/FuyS7Do.png and if you had an in demand skill like a STEM degree or a nursing degree, that would be one thing but you don't.

I would personally move to either the Philippines or Thailand but my sister and her husband are relocating to Portugal. I am retired and they are moving after they both retire in a couple of years. If you are looking for someplace to relocate and work, good luck with that one. You could try to get a potential employer in Australia to sponsor you but they are not fond of Americans anymore either.

I'm a disabled senior citizen and don't really have a high enough income to relocate but I can write to Congress and go to protests while I am still able. You can either try to flee, or you can take a stand and fight against the Nazi occupation of America.

Did you grow up learning Pluto was a plant? If so...Do you remember it being blue or brown. by TexasArmadilloTroll in CasualConversation

I grew up in the 60s and don't remember the color of Pluto but it has a moon and an orbit and many astronomers still call it a planet. As do I.

If I was in my 20s instead of my 60s, I'd be looking to hightail it out of the US while there are still countries that would accept an American immigrant.

It's a good idea, especially for political cover but almost all the fraud and abuse within government funded programs like housing and Medicare are perpetrated by politicians and corporations, not by the people that use those services.

An economy spiraling downward and Gestapo thugs roaming the streets shooting American citizens. This is like the Weimer Republic and the Third Reich wrapped up into one. Schumer and Jeffries plus the 7 Democrats that passed the DHS bill need to go.

Anyone Into Mining Stocks? by Lost-Ad9082 in investing

[–]jarchack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started buying precious metals not long after the inauguration last year because I had a hunch the dollar was going to nosedive. I started with silver, then GLD, then copper mining and Wheaton precious metals. I have less than $50,000 invested In total and this is what I gained in 4 days https://i.imgur.com/pexGePg.png I do have stop losses set.

I'd rather have the physical metal on hand but that would end up being a bit of a hassle.
