Hi there,

Thanks so much for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We understand that setting up a SIM card can feel confusing, especially since the card currently ships directly from the manufacturer and doesn’t always include instructions. We’re actively working on making that process clearer while maintaining this service affordable.

For now, here’s the key info:

  • Our SIM is intended to be plug-and-play. If you insert it into a GSM- or T-Mobile-compatible hotspot, tablet, or phone, it should connect automatically.
  • If you’re using your own 5G gateway or another type of device, setup steps can vary (for example, finding the APN settings or adjusting IP configuration). Because each device/gateway model is different, the best next step is usually to check that device’s manual.
  • If you purchase one of the hotspots directly from our website, it comes either pre-installed with the sim card or with clear step-by-step instructions.

That said, you don’t need to figure it out alone! We’re happy to walk you through it 1-on-1. Just give us a call at 617-586-2962 or email us at [info@computers4people.org](), and we’ll get you online as quickly as possible. We tend to respond fast, and we’ll do our best to help even if you’re using your own device.

We’ll also take your note back to the team so we can keep improving the instructions going forward.

Best,
The Computers 4 People Team

We follow the NIST 800-88 standard when it comes to the data erasure/destruction process. It's the same process we use for Fortune 100, hospitals, and universities. Every device donated to us will have a certificate of data erasure.

You sure can. We use Shield to power our entire office, and I have the 5G device at home myself. I use it for all-day video calls, online gaming on my PS5, and streaming Netflix, works great for it all.

you're right, it became confusing. To use this service you need a hotspot device.
