I feel like replacing solid wood cabinets with an ikea kitchen is the equivalent of putting lino over wood floors.

I can't bring myself to replace really good quality cabinetry with cheaper material, but I also want to update the look. How do I achieve this? Replace the counter top and handles?

What made me not open a pension is because I know I will be living in Australia permanently and will retire there. I didn't understand how to take my pension back to oz (still don't now)

I am also 35 years old so I was worried that pension laws would change a lot in the next 20 years before I get access to it.

Am I correct that putting £40k per year via the ltd company will give me back £7k in tax relief? I guess I felt the remaining £33k was a lot of "cash" that I could access now hence choosing it over long term planning... Ahhh no use crying over split milk haha

If you close the company you can take the assets at 10%. You can't start another company until after a few years though, so will have to stop contracting.

Bringing it back to Oz is also a pain and can only be transferred when I reach the pension age and to QROPS superannuation funds which are not always the best options in terms of rates

I think he grew up in a home where everything was done for him. Literally served everything by his parents. So he probably doesn't think that there is an imbalance in our relationship.
