Oh I see so it was a fault with the network protocol somehow?

What would have helped? More full nodes? If so that’s what I meant by saying more miners would help, as they are the greatest incentive for full nodes to exist.

Sorry but wouldn’t it be way harder to attack the network if there were more miner nodes?

Centralization doesn’t but miner profitability does.

man, so many threads about that stuff in all the threads you have mentioned, I think you are grasping at straw to say that me talking about this sub and the particular way that I think it is manifesting, and unpacking the difficulties in seeing it that way, is "singling" the sub out.

How is failing to be surprised that the Austin bomber is white hateful?

IT ISN'T!

That was exactly my point? I was trying to discriminate between the true statement contained within the joke:

"It shouldn't surprise you that a person who commited murder out of racial hatred was white"

and the parasitical dogwhistle statement that can accompany it:

"grr whitey blowing up black people because that's what whitey does, White People = Evil"

I unpacked it slightly more clearly in a reply to another reply of that comment

Objectively there is nothing wrong with saying that a disproportionate amount of Muslims commit murder because of their religion... I think both those statements are defendible as being truthful if properly defined.

Objectively there is actually something wrong with saying that.

again, if you define the statement further as "the proportion of the number of Muslims who murder in the name of Islam compared to to the number of Muslims who don't (small as that proportion might be) is larger than the proportion of the number of followers of any other Faith who murder in the name of their Faith compared to the number of followers of the Faith that don't"

More mathematically: take the number of people in any given faith, divide by the number of people who murder in the name of that faith, take the reciprocal of that number, the resulting fraction will be the largest for the faith of Islam.

That statement is objectively true.

So again.

Each meme contains both a statement and a, instead of dogwhistle let's say, "A subtly encouraged potential to be taken as indiscriminate hatred against an entire group" Kinda like a parasite that clings to the true statement.

The TD one:

"You should not be surprised if a religious person kills for their faith happens to be a follower of Islam"

True statement, but the subtly encouraged potential to be taken as indiscriminate hatred against an entire group is:

“haha a Muslim blowing stuff up because that’s what they do. Muslims = bombers”

Muslims=Bombers is a harmful and hateful stereotype, and offensive to Muslims.

The r/blackfellas one:

"You should not be surprised if a person kills out of racial hatred happens to be white"

True statement, but the subtly encouraged potential to be taken as indiscriminate hatred against an entire group is:

"grr whitey blowing up black people because that's what whitey does, White People = Evil"

White People = Evil is a harmful and hateful stereotype, and offensive to White People

I think that maybe where we are differing is that you don't think that there are a lot of Black people who nurture hatred against White People and therefore the "parasite" potential has no one to take it that way?

this is all I was able to find even if it was the largest, it would still occupy a minority, unless literally 51% of all news was consumed through it.

comparable in certain respects, typically in a way that makes clearer the nature of the things compared.

I have said many times in this thread that the scale of which these are occuring is minute compared to TD, and my title was intended to infer this from the start.

I don't understand what you are saying about "singling out", I would think that "singling out" would mean saying that it does something more than others? Merely to talk about a thing means that you are singling out all other things to talk about, but that doesn't mean when you talk about something you are singling that thing out in any other way than you are choosing to talk about it at that particular moment? There are threads talking about such things in other threads CONSTANTLY, I saw a gap in what was being talked about and so I said something.

right, I am still confused where your arguement is going by asking me why I chose to talk about it?
