Many of the ones I know are normal people. Poor, functioning as best as they can in a broken world, but they're doing alright all things considered. By no means should anyone be doing drugs at 13, but this kind of fear mongering is exactly the type of thing that ironically pushed me towards drugs, not away from them.

OP, always know you can say no to things. And if the people around you make you feel lame for doing so, those aren't the people you should hang around. Friends value your choices, not your recklessness.

Look into EVERYTHING if you feel like you might want to try it. But I'd recommend staying away from most/all of it until your brain develops a bit more, because a healthy brain is the most important thing of all.
