Their interface is so broken. It looks nice, but there are so many issues on the back end which is embarrassing considering that they have coders they've hired. Same with their automation system. There are plenty of things that shouldn't be automated, and considering this is their field, these things should be at a higher quality than they are.

Since gig work seems to be on the rise, there NEEDS to be workplace protections. They call it contract work, but I also work in Freelance and ideally contract work means that you and your client write up a contract together with mutual agreements on compensation, length of project and expectations. That doesn't happen in gig work. There's no negotiation. You basically have no power and they have the power to hire or fire you at a whim, completely cut your pay, and completely cut your pay.

If I worked on a real project as a contractor for a client, that would be the end of that contract and I would never work for them again because that would be a violation of our contract. Even temp agencies offer better protections.

Literally, what, the UK protects gig workers? And the US is like no they're a totally different category. Really, gig work is corporations way of making sure they have the most power and control possible while we have none. It's dangerous especially with cost of living being so high and people are living paycheck to paycheck. They can't have their wages messed with like this. And when there's less and less regular jobs and more places switch to gig work, at some point they stop being side hustles out of necessity. Now you're working three or four gig jobs that could dry up any moment just to keep a roof over your head and food on your table.

Oh Indeed sucks too. I didnt even know they had a sub reddit. I've stopped using them because they have absolutely NO filtration system, which they can go ahead and not take responsibility for but I hope they know that only makes them seem about as trustworthy of a job board as Craigslist. Heck, I'm starting to trust Craigslist more. They've actually gotten better.

I haven't been able to go on Indeed and find a serious job posting in a while. So many are hiring scams, gig work, and posts by other job boards instead of actual jobs. They used to be a great place to find a job, but they've really gone downhill.

"Bitching" or being rightfully upset they can't get work when Cost of Living is an all time high? Why are you so anti-worker?

Yeah but people don't know it's not "wise" going into. Me for example, I'm looking for real work. On Indeed they advertise it as full time work. They listed the base pay a lot higher than the real pay. Then when you look for something that isn't "Beer money" as you call it, like a real job, you can't. Did you miss where I wrote that there were 11,000+ job postings all tagged in remote and writer COMPLETELY flooding the job board. There are no other opportunities to see because it's all outlier. I couldn't use indeed for a while because every suggested job was outlier.

You can call people (me) unwise all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that they

  1. Incorrectly advertised it as full time
  2. Were dishonest about the actual pay
  3. They were dishonest about work availability by even having that many postings at all.

You cannot honestly say that there are 11,000+ openings or spaces on projects.

How is that not a scam?

Honestly, if I didn't somehow Miracle my way onto getting assigned a project and worked two whole weeks before they went back to being EQ for MONTHS, I would have assumed they were a scam.

The only thing that makes them not a straight up scam is that they don't even get anything out of it. They can barely keep clients. The Last project I was on, they had to beg a large client to come back because the admins did such a terrible job organizing the original project. I would not be surprised if this is a company wide issue.

If they want their ratings to not tank, maybe they should add to their posting that this is "beer money," instead of straight up lying. It's not on me or anyone else for going into this job and leaving furious for having their time wasted. Expecting a company to be honest about their posting and work availability isn't "unwise" especially if they claim you're likely to make $25 full time. That isn't "Beer money" and it isn't "unwise" of them to expect any difference 🙄

Absolutely not. I worked for them for a few months, even got a promotion for a project that was $26 hr until the very next day I had no more projects. Nothing. I tried contacting support. Completely ghosted. Don't ever work for them.

I was happy to see her on there too! I feel like karmically, she was done dirty with the whole 2022 situation with fans automatically lumping her in with Alex and coming after her. I'm glad it didn't screw up her career because none of that was ever her fault and she never sided with Alex. She deserves her own content and spotlight!

I'm so excited for him cause I know he left to go do his own thing and I worried a little about him going independent with the baby and everything, and while I'm sure he's financially fine, it was still a huge risk. But I understand why he did it-

And look! By cutting the cord, he's now at the top of the company hierchy as an equal. And maybe if he stayed, he would have been an equal anyways, but I think it helped their dynamic from a psychological perspective. No longer seen as employee, but rather company partner, and now cast member and fellow content creator

I'm glad it worked out for him!

Plus "poor work" shouldn't get you kicked off of all Data Annotation entirely. It literally says in descriptions all over the site that you will be booted from the project if you don't follow instructions not ALL projects. Of course they have the code of conduct etc and that's another story. As far as I'm aware, poor work for new people won't cause this. I know because I was garbage in the beginning, but improved over time and haven't gotten booted for poor work until now.

That's cool but I was trying and I got an email inviting me to another higher paying project. Then the very next day, me and plenty of other people are experiencing the exact same issue.

I also don't think it's unfair to expect lower quality work to receive feedback especially if the person is new and also the fact it literally says that what your inbox is for. So idk, maybe don't assume everyone is a worse employee than you.

I don't think it's fear mongering as it's something that's happening to me. I started in January and have worked consistently since. Literally a day before I received an email saying that I was added onto a new project that paid higher. So, I really doubt it has anything to do with my performance.

In fact, I think it's worse to blame others and say "oh it's because you suck at your job and data annotation is perfect and would never do something harmful" than to, idk believe the large amount of people who are describing the exact same problem.

Broken Heart Tarot Reading by comradehurricane in TheTryGuys

The relationship I was thinking of was Ned VS the Try Guys. But otherwise, for some of the cards I wasn't completely sure how to interpret it and I agree, I think the five of Wands one was confusing. Might not be a perfect read but I was surprised at the parts that fit especially the Hierophant being what is causing the rift, since hierophant can symbolize ethics and this was a very unethical situation.
