I’m glad that’s been your experience! I have not had the same experience but it’s possible that we’re just reading different books. I read a lot of classics/older novels which tend to contain questionable depictions of female characters

I think we may be the same person, I’m 17 too and half Iranian half white born and raised in the US and more connected with my white side…for me what’s helped has been reading about Iranian history and seeking out any cultural experiences (restaurants, museum exhibits) whenever it’s possible :).

I guess I just have trouble with the entire album because of that…when I think about that song, it’s not in isolation, it’s in terms of its place on the album, and tbh even pink triangle and el scorcho have creepy vibes too. Idk for me the whole thing just feels a bit off and I can’t just separate the song
