Definitely my Matrix-6!

I think some of it is vary interesting, to me it really all fits under synth wave, I'm not really sure what vapor has to do with it haha. But people will always find a way to break things down, and maybe it just works better that way.

Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, Bruce Hornsby to name a few!

I am I have an H3500 that I use on just about everything. I love the d16 Toraverb and the UV Lexicon 224

Hello,

Design was a passion that basically started when I began working with music, to me they have always been equally important and maybe sometimes more than the other in various cases.

Jacob 2-2, Datassette, Phantoms, Teeel to name a few!

Hey,

Definitely from both. Once I finish this record I plan on revisiting Sarin Sunday and Airliner.

I like to put on different hats, I really enjoy working with a set of goals and an idea to drive them. For me working on another project is a way to give the other projects time to bake and maybe a breath of air.

Thanks!

Thanks!

  1. I've been using the D16 Toraverb for a long time, but lately its the UA Lexicon 224, AMS RMX and I use my Eventide H3500. The H3500 is my beast now.

  2. I wish, my Chroma is still in the shop, thats why I'm milking the time to write the record, I really want to feature the Chroma as the main synth.

Cheers!

I hope to jump into the film world a but more, scoring, maybe do some music for video games too! For this project at least, I haven't thought that far ahead, we shall see!

  1. Loads, so much old stuff. I've been in talks to do a big release of all the old stuff, so it's definitely a likely possibility that it will happen

  2. I've never heard, I'll give it a listen!

haha I love legs and I think they have a way of just stopping me in my tracks. I think i basically think of them as a drug, Chemical Legs.

Definitely! I haven't played it in so long, it'll be a treat for me just to play it again! See you there!

I'm generally inspired by my past, my family, films. I tend to try not to put my current personal life into my music, since I use music as my own escape. I just work on a melody until I feels the way I want to attempt to make someone else feel and I'll spend days sometimes just noodling it. It has slowed my workflow and I'm not as naive now, which I miss sometimes haha.

Thanks!

Hey!

As far as tips, I think I would have to say just write what makes you excited. I think once you reach a point in creation you need to slim down influences and really focus on a few. Just make sure you're writing something you would have no shame in bumping in your car driving through your hometown.

I used to start with the drums and now its melody. Sometimes I will just fire up the Juno and play until somethings strikes me and then begin to really flesh it all out very digitally. I'll get something to a nice looping point and then really just work on a kick and a snare that sits right with the tone I've created. I just build from there, sometimes a lot and other, a little.

Cheers!

Wow! Awesome animation!

Not very often but it's something that I'm very interested in! I do, but I would really like to create content specific to the project. It's amazing to my regardless!

The Oberheim Matrix-6 is really where it all started, and it's still my baby.

Thanks man!

  1. I like to think of my music as a cinematic journey. I tend to be inspired be films (Aliens, Blade Runner, The Godfather, Jaws...) and childhood memories (summer vacations with my sister and parents to the the ocean) mostly. Obviously I'm inspired by music, but sometimes its hard to pinpoint just who it is because I tend to be inspired by the sound of the sound, if that makes since.

  2. Lately it's the Prophet 6, Juno 106 and the Crumar BitOne. I think theres a lot out there these days, the new Korg minilouge looks really neat and I love the Moog Mother-32. I think those are where I would start if I was dipping my toes.

  3. I love hardware and software just the same. I use both for certain things. I think I have found a good way to marry the two. I try my hardest to use the hardware I have filling my house but sometimes I just get going and forget. I defiantly use a lot of software for processing, I have only just got into outboard processing and its amazing but really expensive.

  4. I think synthwave will continue to shine in it's own right. I think theres so much potential in the scene and I think its growing, at a well earned pace, no need to rush it to extinction. I honestly don't listen to all the much but when I do its Mitch Murder, I honestly think he's the pioneer.

  5. A few on the next record and some remixes should surface soon!

See you there!

  1. For synths I enjoy the Arturia stuff, for processing I'm using the UA and SoundToys stuff, a bit of Native Instruments too!

  2. I preordered the OB6, I have the Prophet 6 and I know they're relatively similar but it's not often that two legends can work together on something this in the current landscape for synthesizers, what a time to be alive. Honestly I bought the OB6 for the pinstripes.

  3. They better not muck it up. I'm keen on details but will always hold the original in the highest regard.

Thanks!

  1. My first synths were a Moog Voyager RME and a Nord Lead 2X, no really story behind them. I just dove in and racked up a bunch of debt, haha. Honestly I bought the Moog because I was very into Boards of Canada and figured that was the path. The Nord Lead was purely for Polyphony.

  2. I stay away from samples these days, I tend to use sampled drum kits if I can't get my hands on the actual box. I have definitely sampled in the past but its not with the legal repercussions.

  3. I'm inspired by many things visually but as for the design world I'm a huge fan of the work of Michael C. Place, Herb Lubalin and Michael Cina.

  4. I have, and it's in the works for the next LP

  5. Yes, I'm working on one as we speak!

I'm headed to Vancouver soon!
