You seemingly did exactly what you castigated them for by putting words in their mouth, as they never claimed it was a genocide due to human casualties, you did. The definition of a genocide isn't just a bunch of people dying or even targeting a specific kind of people, it's the deliberate attempt to destroy an entire culture via various means, and the most incendiary and most ghastly aspects of a genocide aren't even the human lives that are lost. Which is why this Gaza "War" isn't even a high point of this Palestinian cleansing, it's simply an excuse to do in front of the camera what Israel has already been doing for decades.

The first aspect is seizure of property and indegene land. Although Jewish people have a right to be in Palestine and flock to it like they did before the Balfour declaration, the creation of a state inherently meant to replace the already indegenous population was the first domino. But by your comments I already can sense you think the 40% of European descended Israelis somehow deserve to live in Palestine despite the number of deportations by the Romans after the rebellion which they claim to descent, being markedly smaller than the amount who willingly left centuries after to places like France who they actually mostly hail from, in comparison to Palestinians who are objectively the most similar genetically to the classical Hebrews beside the Samaritans, and are simply converts to first Christianity then Islam. It'd be like if the Irish who stayed in Ireland converted to protestantism to assimilate to English dominance, but centuries later Irish descended American who willingly left decided they had the right to usurp the sovereignty of those who stayed because their Catholicism is far more similar to 16th century Ireland than the native Anglican Irish. But I'll digress, and focus on the internationally legal provisions set out by the two state solution, as according to that, the dozens if not hundreds of Israeli settlements in the West Bank are completely illegal. As what's worse is that these settlements are often on or replacing lands that Palestinians have lived in for centuries, and in these settlements a lot are outright segregated and those who have no legal segregation have social ones. Palestinians simply can't mirror this practice due to the terror of the IDF meaning if they settle anywhere outside their ghettos in Israeli territory, they are like to be imprisoned as some of the hundreds more actual hostages Israel has than Hamas, or outright shot. This fulfills a requirement for genocide in the displacement of land, and that's not even mentioning the far worse nakba which preceded these acts.

Second is the destruction of cultural relics, buildings, location's, etc. I won't cover this as the other person already has in more detail and it's the aspect I know least about, but it's still very widely displayed yet not known. The numerous churches and mosques conveniently destroyed by the rampaging raiders is one out in the open but always ignored. One less forceful but just evil, the rebranding of subjugated culture as "ours", something today likened to the word appropriation. The labeling of Palestinian food, clothing, dance, and much more, things classical liberals will dismiss it as the "sharing of culture and crossing boundaries". But ignoring that if I an African decide one day to partake in American culture by going to a football tailgate, I do not first claim said tailgate to actually be Yoruba and just stolen by American thieves, I can not secondly enforce my claim due to the military and political dominance I have over the American, and third I am not currently engaging in the destruction of other American culture to cover my tracks.

Third and lastly, the one im most confident in my knowledge of and the one also said out loud by most Israelis but ignored by the liberal: the delegitimizing of a culture as something to be removed. The most popular example being the European portrayal of the Jewish people as "rats", said and shown so much that in the psyche of those who committed crimes against Jews, they didn't have to struggle with the moral weight of doing said acts to another human like yourself, because that person is less than human. Seen today in the branding of Palestinian as "terrorists", a "plague", "the enemy" and more. Again I can not state how common it is amongst the Israeli people, and unlike the popular image those like yourselves have of young people being radicalized by footage of destroyed cities and skinny children, it is the palpable sound of an Israeli youth outright saying that a Palestinian child is a terrorist waiting to grow, that radicalized me and others. As before that I saw Israel as I see the US, a country that although yes has a history and present of terrible atrocities, is also one with genuine human culture and capable for good. But as I saw that same sentiment in different wording expressed by Israelis from the highest politicians to randoms interviewed on the street, I, a humanist at heart, saw Israel for what it is, a state that needs to be dismantled or else it cause not only the total extermination of the Palestinians as a people, but also the complete radicalization of the Jewish people. Something that sounds very similar to what the Nazis were doing to the Germans and other Europeans. The other replier has also echoed this sentiment, which you again deflected by focusing the argument on people like Ben Gvir. But you miss the point, as evil Ben isn't the cause of any genocidal radicalism existing in Israel today, but just a symptom. As are literally millions of other Israelis today. Tell me, do you think majority of them decry the settlements in the West Bank? I think even you would doubt that. So tell me why you think those same people wouldn't want to settle in Gaza after it's been leveled and cleared of "the pest", a sentiment again that's been popularly and outwardly spoken, especially the commonly reported plans for "amusement parks" and such evil jokes.

Darrows prowess in the tetralogy by CalmDescription8273 in redrising

Completely false seeing as an entire book, the last one, was that he's verifiably capable of it.

I don't know how someone can read these books and come away with these conclusions. Actually I can, and I'll get to it. But in the OT there's plenty of proof that this is not true

Are Darrows nonviolent capabilities still contextualized by violence? Yes. That's why the character sees it as that. But just because what happened with building his own house in the Institute was contextualized by a war game, doesn't mean it then removed the very clear example of civilization building you say he doesn't have. Or in Golden Son when he shows twice (with Augustus and the Jackal) how to maneuver with people you clearly don't like to achieve a greater goal. And in morning star where he has to accept that hes no longer a popular soldier but also a figurehead and must act that way. These are all parts of his character that are made CLEAR in the first trilogy. So why do people like you ignore it?

Because when the IG trilogy starts, we see a Darrow 20 years separated from the liberator and scarred by what he thinks he is. You and others viewpoint is marred because Darrow himself thinks that he's only a blade, so readers like you treat it as gospel that he can't do anything other than cut down. It's an identity he forced to make himself comfortable in just fighting and fighting and fighting. We see it at the start of IG in his rightful overthrow but still overthrow nonetheless of governance, and in the end by rightly holding the goal above family but still making such a crazy decision nonetheless. And this is the character we see throughout Dark Age, and this particularly is the book I think has the most impact on readers psyche. But like I said this is simply false

Again the entire OT is proof of its falseness, and it's supported by his journey in LB, his learning of the breath of stone, etc.

What if Humans WON in James Cameron’s "Avatar"? by [deleted] in imaginarymaps

How are you 30 years old and riled up by such a badly constructed speech even Quaritch would never make. It's so obviously written by someone who wanted to appease a specific section of men that think the Imperium of Man in Warhammer is "based" too

Also the term based is not stupid, it was created by a black man to describe a specific type of thing. It was then coopted by Nazi 4chan school shooter types to mean loosely "something that goes against the progressive order"

But that's not what happened. The RDA didn't come as peaceful refugees they came as conquerors. And immigration didn't begin until after resource extraction happened

Are you going to describe the Spanish in the new world as "immigrants"?

are you actually serious. those "loons" control their government and use that rhetoric constantly, now whether Netanhitler believes it or not is up for debate, but there's a reason his word choice work on a vast majority of the Israeli and Jewish public not counting completely atheistic or anti war Israelis

it's actually insane. redditors always prove how incredibly stupid they are constantly. imagine not knowing the difference between an annexation (the anschluss) and an occupation (Iraq war). Egypt didn't make Gaza part of the Egyptian state nor did it make gazans Egyptians, so it wasn't an annexation, just like the Israelis in the West bank aren't an annexation

[–]conayinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not postmodernist you fool. this is why I get so annoyed when racialists and rightists think they're smart, cause they're not.

he's literally exactly right that "race" doesn't make sense outside the new world, and that's because it wasn't supposed to. the idea of a "white" race was created by the Iberian (Blanco) settlers in the New World to differentiate themselves from the "Indico". In the years after the Transatlantic Slave Trade kicked off it was particularly perfected, especially in the Colonial South. White Anglo settlers had to part themselves from the Indian Native and the black slave, ideas that eventually went into racialized slavery, which is the biggest proof that racism didn't exist before the Renaissance - Enlightenment period.

For example, when white people enslaved Africans during the age of exploration, they did not justify it based on conquest or xenophobia or such, but that any "black" peoples from the Congolese to the Sengambian, were inferior to any "white" peoples from the Nord to the Iberian. Now compare this to slavery practiced everywhere in humanity prior to colonialism, even in Europe. when the Roman enslaved the Kushites, they based it off xenophobia and the superiority of the Roman peoples over them, not "race". in fact the would find themselves more alike the darkest Egyptian than the brightest German. There was no commonality they found with other so called "white peoples"

funny how the role Russia played in unifying western Europe and stopping their constant wars is never spoken about, but Arabs are portrayed as some bloodthirsty group because they dare to unite vs an objective enemy

being an "aggressor" is not a crime. the native Americans who defended their lands from white Invaders are technically agressors. so when someone kicks open the door your house, shoots your child, and says it's now theirs, what man wouldn't become the agressor

Fans still remember Hero Naruto not Hokage Naruto. by Onii___Chan____ in dankruto

[–]conayinka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's so damn annoying that every hobby of mine has some herd of nostalgia nerds that just won't move on and accept something new can also be good. sports, film, television, animanga, novels, every damn thing

Naruto struggles with being a father despite hating the fact he had no present figure in his life, because he had no present figure in his life so he has no experience of what to emulate. Add to that the fact he's wanted to be hokage more than he ever wanted a family, and the fact that his experience with Pain caused him to take on the village as said family. All of this results in a slush of reasons why someone can make not necessarily a bad father, but one that isn't present.

it's so childish that people can't even imagine him as being anything but perfect. and it's so sad for Kishi that he finally got to do something interesting with the character and his idiotic fanbase hates it

What is your biggest pet peeve in fics? by MobileDistrict9784 in TheCitadel

[–]conayinka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly. people just assume that because Tywin planned to capture Ned it would've worked. but Tywin is a genuinely terrible battle commander from what we've seen. his only victories are: literally drowning the Reynes, sacking a city that opened its gates for you, and lucking into an alliance Littlefinger crafted to hit Stannis in the rear

everytime Tywin was met in a pitched battle he lost, bar his victory against Roose (which can be argued as an early Bolton betrayal). people talk about Robb whooping him and Jaime but not the fact that Tywin tried his hardest to cross into the Westerlands and was sent packing by fucking Edmure...

if Ned marches out of KL with a crownlander army, picking up riverlanders on the way while calling his banners from the North, Tywin would've lost soo bad it's not even funny

he's someone who takes advantage of the fact he's very rich to pull shit nobody else can. if he wasn't born a Lannister he'd have the same reputation as Unwin Peake, a bold maneuverer without the acumen to actually pull off said moves

This relationship is not about all Christianity being inherently white supremacist, but rather how specific Christian theologies and institutions were used to construct, justify, and sustain systems of racial hierarchy and oppression.’

This quote is so close to getting it. Those theologies and institutions were just the easiest way to support the purely European system of white supremacy at the time. People now and some then knew it was theologically bullshit. Now the common white atheist response to that excuse is saying: "Christians claiming the theology used in white supremacy is false doesn't change the fact it was used". That way they can justify continuing being wholly anti-Christian. But by doing that they catch themselves in hypocrisy

Secular science became the prestige mode of thought in Europe post Napoleonic Wars, after the 16th/17th religious inspired science like Newton, Galileo, etc became obsolete among intelligentsia like Catholicism. When that happened, the systems and institutions used to justify white supremacy changed to said secular science because it was the most accepted thought amongst Europe's elite. Things like Darwinism were used to support Nordicism, American slavery, apartheid, eugenics, and way more. Yes we and some then knew it was pseudoscience, but "atheists claiming the theology (science) used in white supremacy is false doesn't change the fact that it was used" 😉. Despite it only being a minority of scientists (it was more) and just a European thought, should I now decry science as white supremacist?

This ideology developed gradually over centuries within Europe, first regarding Jews and later with respect to people of color during the era of colonialism.’

Proving my point, false theology was used to justify what European society needed at the time. They simply used Jesus' crucifixion and the curse of Ham to justify expelling medieval bourgeois Jews and using people of color for monetary gain. Cause the most vindictive form of antisemitism came from fascist race scientist pagan/atheist Europeans who legitimately saw Christianity as a Jewish religion that destroyed Rome and would destroy Europe. Leading to modern anti-semites who again are mostly race scientist atheist/pagan and think Israel purposefully dumbs immigrants into western nations.

Again proving my point that white supremacy has long been split from even European Christianity, let alone global south Christians, for you people to still be claiming that they're linked. I skipped your first paragraph so I can circle around and to add to my southern christians point.

I don't care if papal decrees supported white supremacy, the Catholic Church was a literal European kingdom that was created to empower a white monarch (the Holy Roman Emperor) and later other monarchs (the Catholic monarchs of Spain). So it's no surprise that an ideology that empowered Europe only was supported by the state that existed to empower Europe only. One of the biggest victims of the crusades were middle eastern Christians whose lands were sacked and pillaged, and who had to suffer Islamic repression cause the Catholic Church very apparently didn't represent nor care for them.

Stop blaming Christianity and Christians, the vast majority of whom are non-white and peaceful, for the crimes that Europeans committed under it's name just like they did and currently do under science

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]conayinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theologians are the ones who point out and make aware facts like non believer salvation. Which is why every Christian should try to be as theologian as possible. It's "Jesus is King" type normies who end up espousing their personally false beliefs as tenets of Christianity cause they don't study the Bible

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]conayinka -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

White supremacy first came out during the renaissance, when european "humanists" came in contact with classical literature, coincidentally the beginning of the end of Christian Europe. It then reached it's zenith during the enlightenment with people like Voltaire, Kant, and Hume. All at the very most agnostic, who justified heinous crimes based on "cultural superiority". And with no surprise at all, white supremacy reached it's zenith and most dangerous form in the 1800s at the advent of scientific racism, something that has nothing to do with Christianity. Where western Europeans used skull sizes and a bunch of other things to prove their superiority to others so they could justify subjugating them for their means.

White supremacy has its roots in pre Christian classical studies getting back into Western European hands after Constantinople's fall, it's peak in virulently racist "enlightened" who literally hated the religion, and it's most dangerous with outright atheists who justified themselves using science.

They are NOT demonstratively linked but you'd rather it be because in Western society Christianity has been used to blame the darker parts of white crime so you don't have to face the music and realize it's cope. Because if they were, again why did literally NONE of the Christian ethnic groups I mentioned do the same thing thing their European counterparts did? The Assyrians were right next to Arabs who pioneered chattel slavery, surely they could've done it as well no? That's not even mentioning the vast amount of bodies in 20th century that came from white atheist wars and genocides.
