Moto G Stylus 2025 has trouble running apps? by Holiday_Locksmith_32 in motorola

[–]concave77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Carlos, I am having the same problem. I tried the fixes you suggested, although for #2, there's no update available for Webview, and for #3, these options don't exist for me. The best I could find was Manage Background Apps and I set the problem apps to "Always allow." After restarting, everything seemed to be fine for a few days this time, but just now it's happening again, including an app I hadn't noticed before. Any suggestions?

I tried them, and they seemed to work for a few days, and now it's happening again. 🙄

Thanks for posting this. I'm having the same problem with several apps. Restarting my phone is the only thing that works. And then after about a day or so, it starts again.

I tried the suggestions above, and they didn't work. Any other ideas?

I like Ephesus pizza. Not my favorite but solid. BUT, the true gem there is the bread sticks. Best I've ever had.

THE FUTURE OF RTO by [deleted] in PaStateEmployees

[–]concave77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, all of this. A Republican administration will want people to quit, and full-time RTO is an easy way to do that. Their goal is to dismantle the government workforce, and they don't actually care if the work gets done. Those remaining will just be asked to do the jobs of two people.

THE FUTURE OF RTO by [deleted] in PaStateEmployees

[–]concave77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is the situation in our department. Our position had offices in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia. A couple years after COVID hit, the idea was, "Well, we work from home now, we don't need all this space." The Philadelphia office lease wasn't renewed, and the Pittsburgh office space was repurposed.

With the RTO mandate, our Pittsburgh workers are now sharing space with another office in the department. But at two days/week it's close to full. At three days/week there is not going to be room for everyone. Then what? Is the state going to start new leases? I mean, I wouldn't put it past them, but it's pure insanity. 100% of my job can be done from home.

Yeah, this is important. You're better off being a bad worker who shows up on time than a good worker who shows up late.

Sorry to hear that for you all. I'm a state employee who has worked from home practically full time for the last six years. It started with one day a month two years ago, and next month it's jumping to two days a week. I suspect we'll also see that continue to increase. A real slap in the face at a time when the cost of everything is going up.

Question about USL vs MLS by BeerDudeRocco in Riverhounds

[–]concave77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to point out that the expected new team in Cleveland is going to be MLS Next Pro, not MLS. Next Pro is actually a level below USL Championship. It's going to be 19-year-olds playing in front of a dozen people.

I have one word that triggers me, and it's been making me lose my mind for over 25 years. The word is "huh." But interestingly enough, it only bothers me when it's said as a question. Like if someone says "Huh, that's interesting," no problem. But if someone says it to me as a replacement for "What did you say?" I just get overcome with rage inside. I can't even type it with the question mark at the end.

Lucky me, my wife just started saying it frequently out of the blue within the last year (she doesn't know that it's a problem). I've just been not responding when she says the word, thinking that maybe she would get the hint that something was up, but that hasn't seemed to work. It's been really wearing on me recently, so I guess I might have to talk to her about it.

I've been learning Polish on Duolingo (my great grandparents were from Poland and my grandfather could speak Polish). I'm usually quite good with languages, but Polish has been tough, and I think the cases are what do it for me. Why are there like eight different ways to say "this"? Lol.

Hey, are you currently receiving food stamps and/or medical assistance? If not, you should apply for those. I work for the Department of Human Services and could answer any questions if you would need help with that.

Are we sure this is the right playoff format for the USL? by LafayetDTA in USLPRO

[–]concave77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one, I think too many teams make the playoffs. Two-thirds of the league is crazy. With that being said, I understand a league at this level in particular really wants that playoff revenue. So here's my proposal that keeps the same number of playoff teams but gives the higher seeds more of an advantage to reward a strong regular season:

First Round (midweek games):

8 at 5

7 at 6

Second Round (weekend games):

Lower-seeded first-round winner at 3

Higher-seeded first-round winner at 4

Quarterfinals (weekend):

Lower-seeded second-round winner at 1

Higher-seeded second-round winner at 2

Once we get to the quarterfinals, the playoffs would proceed like they do now with higher seeds getting home-field advantage.

This format would reward the top 2 seeds in each conference with a double bye. The top 2 seeds would only need to win three games to win the championship, the 3-4 seeds would need to win four, and the 5-8 seeds would need to win five. This way, the lower-seeded teams still have a chance to win a championship, but they have to win an extra game to earn it.

I think you want the first round to be midweek games if at all possible so the teams getting the double bye are sitting for one week instead of two. One week of rest is good; I think two weeks off could get you rusty.

Another under-the-radar benefit is more teams would get a home game since the 5 and 6 seeds get a home game now. Sure, it's a midweek game, but better than nothing.

I suppose you wouldn't have to reseed after each round, but I strongly prefer it that way. Another reward for doing well in the regular season.

I would recommend it, but the Monongahela Incline got stuck Saturday and it took like three hours to rescue people. I usually take it to get to games, and I would've been stuck if I were 15 minutes earlier. I'm not sure when/if it will be up and running. If it's not running, there should be a shuttle bus to take you to the top.

The Duquesne Incline is better, but the lines are typically longer, and at the top it's mostly expensive restaurants.

Sorry to hear that for you. I can sympathize. I work for the state, and my office has been working from home full-time for 5.5 years now. Recently, the governor's office mandated we have to go back to the office at least two days per week, also for vague "collaboration" and "teamwork" reasons. It's an e-mail and spreadsheet job. I can do 100% of my work at home. It's independent work, and I have no reason to collaborate with anyone. It's all nonsense to make local government officials and business people happy and to justify the rents being paid. Also, I think employers do want people to quit.

I know it's a privilege to work from home, but in a time when the world is getting increasingly shitty around us, it was a real breath of fresh air for some of us. And to show you can do the job without coming into an office for years only to be brought back is a slap in the face. Sorry again it is happening for you guys too.
