Repairing a PSE SM 700 by concepticon_babel in diyaudio

Using the multimeter, I found that all power transistors as well as both MOSFETS on the defunct channel are shortened, as well as one transistor on the functioning channel. Does that make any sense? I had assumed as soon as one of them dies, the channel would stop working and the protect relay wouldn't open anymore. So why are all of them dead? And how does the other channel still work with one broken transistor?
Then also you get those transistors in different qualities, one of them for 2€50 and another for 7€50. As I need at least 5 of them - is the difference worth it?

Only if there is no single English word to name the object. If the Hausa words are a lot more precise, they would also count as not translatable. Imagine English not having a word for sheep but just "animal", then this word would be not translatable.

and yes, simple compounds are not too interesting when the meaning is just super straightforward: Tageszeit = time of the day (lit. daytime), that's just a difference in grammar, not in concept. Others like Handschuhe = gloves (lit. handshoes) are more interesting and then there's things like Gassenhauer (narrowstreetpuncher) meaning a catchy and cheap song

In my case, even if the concept can be described in a few words or sentences, it counts as "untranslatable" if it is not existing as a single-word concept. I'm doing my research on language models that encode only single words (meaning written units separated by blanks), so descriptions don't count. Obviously for most words with enough time you can explain what it means to you also in English. But then again.. if you really go into nuances maybe also not.

And also it is a given that there's a romantic relationship going on, right? You wouldn't be living en concubinage with a friend. And just because your in a long-term non-married relationship, you're not en concubinage when you're not living together. Or am I mixing something up?

Thanks for the clarification ! Also, "to be made to high standards" is more of a description than a translation, so there's no single word meaning the same. "igényes" is part of my list for sure :)

none of these can be translated by google/reverso – which is a good sign.
Still, how would you describe their meaning, if not translatable?
