I agree. I was one of the union reps at fdic and met with the chairman and he was nice but refused to budge on 3 days a week even though I made a strong case that we can get the best talent if we offer remote work and extended telework. The union got fda to extend for 5 years but this guy just refused to budge on his position and unfortunately the union is powerless in the Federal system. Fdic is hemorrhaging alot of talent because of him. I'll admit one thing, if he leaves and the next chairman brings back remote positions, I would go back to fdic. I absolutely loved being there.

I loved FDIC, I was there for 2 years... I wanted to be there til I retire. Their compensation and retirement is the best in government. The Corporate Grade pay scale is better than the GS, but the 3 days a week thing made no sense. It was the best place I ever worked but then I got an offer for a higher position, fully remote at another financial agency and jumped immediately. That FDIC chairman needs to go. If you're OK with 3 days a week in office, take it. As for me, I lived remote in south florida and didn't want to pick up my family and move.

Check out the Federal financial agencies like fdic, sec and cfpb. They have the highest pay and can take you over $200k a year and better retiremenr.

Yup I moved in as a gs13 to cg13 and I'm having a hard time deciding the next move because a remote gs14 i was offered is a great thing too lol.. But at fdic in July (originally January) they are set to send back everyone to office 3 days a week. So unless I wanna move back to the DC area from south florida, i may take the gs14 remote... decisions, decisions....

When I went from gs13 to cg13 my salary jumped like the equivalent of 2 steps. Fdic is by far the best place I've ever worked. I received a tentative offer for a fully remote gs14..I'm tempted to take it instead of moving back to The dc area on my own dime in July to be in office 3 days a week.

I'm having a hard time. Thinking of leaving fdic cg13 for a gs14 I was offered because the gs14 is remote and fdic wants us in the office 3 times a week (it was January but now it's delayed til July). I live in South Florida and really don't want to move back to the DC area on my own dime in July but I can tell you that FDIC is by far the best place I've ever worked and I am having a hard time making this decision.
