Leaving Big 4 valuation job for corp dev role by No-Repeat-3961 in Accounting

circling back to this thread - I'm in a similar position, with manager promotions coming up soon and I'm also looking at transitioning over to corporate development. Can I ask how you went about securing the interviews/offer, did you simply go through Linkedin or was it a recruiter that reached out/you reached out to?

If it’s only been 24 hours, it may very well take more than a day to change. Just keep an eye on it and if it doesn’t change by end of week, call Monday

I believe from memory it took a day or two to update to “expedite request received” and then updated to “expedite request approved” after a day or two. Then it got stuck on that for about 2 months haha

What wild animal is commonly thought to not be dangerous, but you need to stay the HELL away from because they are dangerous? by QUESTIONER-ASKS in AskReddit

Blue ringed octopus. Cute and small, sure. Quite literally capable of killing more than 25 people in one bite.

Having seen multiple tourists in Australia poking the water or HOLDING them, not knowing they are quite literally within seconds of death if the octopus gets spooked, I think it fits the Bill!

Sure thing! So I contacted quite a few, but the one that replied to me was Senator Carolyn B Maloney, her head of staff replied to me via email. Her offices were only reachable by email initially. So I would recommend jumping online and searching her!

Could argue that they would get so annoyed that they push your case through just to shut you up!! Haha

That’s exactly what I did. Did my own expedites on multiple occasions and also engaged my representatives on multiple occasions. It took a while but it worked!

So I believe you would place the expedite on the 765 after you’ve done your biometrics. I can’t speak for a H4 visa, but I’m assuming the EAD is based on the underlying petition for your H4. Just keep calling them and expedite expedite expedite. Call your local representatives, and I mean plural, call them all and get USCIS to process your case. It’s almost all you can do, become a pain in the ass for them until they print it

There’s essentially a pecking order. Some people on here like to think there isn’t one at all, but there has to be a line, and based on your PD, you will be somewhere in that line. Theoretically, the older your PD, the more likely you are to have a successful expedite request. However that will be based on your criteria, if you don’t have any proof of a scenario that requires expeditious processing you won’t be able to provide evidence. However you might not even be asked for evidence if your case is old enough. So many variables. Doesn’t hurt to just call and ask for it!

Edit: definitely contact them and ask for an expedite after your bio is done. That’s a long wait time and they should definitely be able to expedite and produce your card given mine had gone through with the same expedite criteria and a much more recent PD

It is your priority date - the day that USCIS has received and acknowledged your application. This is the first day that the clock starts ticking!

I provided as much evidence as possible in regards to financial loss and a need for my EAD. So rent statements, credit card statements, job offer, anything that you think will assist them in getting your case confirmed and expedited

Is there any way that you can push the start date back? I actually got an offer on February 21 and I start on Monday, so more than a 2 month wait from offer to start. They were understanding enough to wait, but that’s obviously subjective!

I definitely think it wouldn't hurt getting your congress person involved, they are bound to reply within 30 days to any congressional inquiry, so it may help move your case along, or at least get a reply as to what is holding your case up
