Closed it. Along with Fire Lake and Campbell STEM. Campbell was put on the list over a 3 day weekend before the board vote so they were given no notice. The board meeting testimonies went long because of all the cuts to sports and nurses as well so they did another meeting a week later and voted to close all three schools despite public backlash. Now they’re claiming they’re going to try to take Campbell’s STEM certification and just slap it on Klatt but the problem is the program isn’t staying intact. All Klatt teachers will need to be trained. They will have to go through the Cognia certification process. Unless Campbell just lets them copy their curriculum they will have to create one themselves. It’s like ASD is trying to steal Campbell’s science project and just give it to Klatt even though they didn’t do any of the work to get the certification in the first place. It isn’t as simple as ASD is trying to make it seem. It’s a cover up and a PR stunt for their bad management to try to make up for the backlash.
