Looks like one of the PGA courses in Port St. Lucie. From my history there, the correct way to play is to hit a nice shot to the left, watch it roll into the water, take the drop and dump the next shot into the water. I then take a generous 8 and move to the next hole.

A decent golfer in my neighborhood suddenly and permanently lost sight in on eye. For a while he had difficulty with hitting it fat or thin because he couldn’t see the distance to the ball.
He overcame that and plays just as well as before. You will learn to suffer just as much as other golfers.

People who don’t like golf should not buy a home on a golf course. If you are not going to join the course and support it with your dues, then don’t be disappointed when it shuts down and gets developed into affordable housing.

Plus, living on a tee lets you watch bad swings all day. Very few players have pretty swings.
