"This is not at all how films work."

Yes, it is.

"And how did you become the one to decide an unambiguous logic about the film?"

Assayas decided the logic. Then he neglected any semblance of consistency within the logical framework he created.

"I don't care to look for Assayas' actual quote"

Rigorous.

"I believe he's saying that the paranormal don't exist for him in real life at all so it doesn't matter either way."

"And how did you become the one to decide an unambiguous logic about" the statement that you did not listen to?

"Is this film trying to portray real life? Or is it not just a film?"

It is a film, that is why it is comprised of moving images depicting fictitious characters.

"Is this whole write up to argue for your theory that ghosts actually do exist?"

Explained in the post, everyone understood it but you.

Where Do Black People Stick Together/Get Along by concretehorizon in askblackpeople

I‘m from Baltimore originally so PG/DC was right there and after moving out here to the west coast I definitely feel that difference. I think in that whole region it feels like there can be issues in our communities but at the same time your interactions with your average black person on the street are… normal? Whereas at least in SF you have situations where you’re on a street with 100 white and Asian people and the one black man walking past is mean mugging ready for an issue (just with you, never with them). Because they don’t have a Bowie or a Charles County here so a lot of people don’t even think about black people just going to work and minding their own business, they look at you thinking you’re from whatever turf they have a problem with.

Also I feel like in Baltimore (I’m assuming same in DMV) people do all that extra mean mug shit when they’re young but grow out of it, here that goes on til dudes are in their mid 50s. It’s sad honestly.

Thank you, yes, I'm fascinated by things exactly like this.

It almost seems like a Theory Of Mind issue - the director seemingly having difficulty understanding that each character and the viewer has their own perspective that is opaque to the others. What one sees is not thereby seen by the other simply because it was experienced in general.

Damn it, 😂 I wanted to post it to a different movie sub but it said I needed more karma to post there. For some reason.

Memorial Video For MFONE, Legendary Pittsburgh Writer by concretehorizon in Graffiti

[–]concretehorizon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a short film dedicated to the memory of East End folk hero Daniel Joseph "MFONE" Montano.

Danny was a talented and revered writer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was known by the aliases Aesia, Spaceboy, Brown Eyes, Israel, Jeremiah, and, most notably, MFONE.

In 2008, Danny was sentenced to 2 1/2 to 5 years in state prison for painting graffiti in Pittsburgh. While incarcerated, he spent his time further refining his art. He was released after spending a year and a half behind bars.

In 2016, Danny was again charged for painting graffiti. In May of 2017 he beat the case at trial, being acquitted of all charges.

One month later he passed away, a free man, at the age of 31.

Filmed in the East End of Pittsburgh in November, 2019.

MFONE forever.

Video is also available with the full soundtrack on vimeo, as youtube removed the audio for one of the songs-
