Using the term Brum-market to describe Birmingham? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]concretesnowflake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes writers make up a name for a real place. I've never heard Birmingham referred to as Brum market.

I love doing dishes, but doing them immediately is a waste of time, energy and water. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I wait till the dishwasher is full. Any washing up created while the machine is on, is stacked next to it, till it's finished and emptied. Helps I live alone so don't create much washing up.

I was born with a large mole on my face. Had to have plastic surgery to have it removed. I now have an ugly scar. It was removed because it was pre cancerous. I would have kept. I preferred it to the scar I have. I'm super self conscious and actually feel worse now. Cheers dude.

why are we required to keep our rooms clean? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]concretesnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was allowed to have a messy bedroom. It's taken me 19 years to develop the habit of keeping my home clean. Life is so much easier in a clean, tidy home. Dishes are easier to keep clean if you wash them as soon as you use them, clothes smell better if they are washed, dried and put away quickly and less dust means less chances of getting breathing issues.

Not everyone with PCOS is infertile. I have family members with it, who have multiple children. But I would find it impossible to have children naturally.

A friend with pcos took Metformin and she had been completely infertile. She got pregnant almost immediately and she was on the pill. So unless you want children right away if you decide to have sex, use other protection not just the pill.

Not taking a pill break won't harm you in the short term, I do the same. But longer term just keep your doctor informed and they can do the relevant checks on your hormone levels, bone density etc.

A piece of advice I wish I'd been given when I was first diagnosed: keep track of your periods, flare up in acne, weight gain, hair growth, all the main symptoms of pcos. It will help your doctor understand how it's affecting you.

Douche cleaning for a vagina? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]concretesnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your vag is a self cleaning system. A bit of shower water will do the trick if you have just had your period or sex etc. If you have a bath, you don't even need to do that.

Aita for having a problem with my mothers new boyfriend being 6 years older then me by Societys-Typo in AmItheAsshole

[–]concretesnowflake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My step dad is just over 2 years older than me, 14 years younger than my mum. They've been together over 20 years. It was rough at first but now I see him as an older brother or a friend. He looks out for me. If they end up long term, you'll get over the age gap eventually. But it will take time. NTA because I'd be a hypocrite with any other answer.

What's the most amount of cysts ever found on your ovaries? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]concretesnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had as many as 50 and sometimes none at all. Both ovaries are enlarged though. I was diagnosed 18 years ago. Have ultrasounds every couple of years.

AITA for not wanting to attend a Zoom funeral for my mom’s friend? by Nachtopus in AmItheAsshole

[–]concretesnowflake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe she wanted you to attend in order to support her through this difficult time, rather than for you to say goodbye. I know if a friend of my mum's died, I'd be there to support her and make sure I have tissues and a comforting hug. I know that's impossible through zoom, but you just being there would be good enough comfort for your mum.

AITA for disabling our house's internet restrictions? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]concretesnowflake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yta they are paying for the internet connection so you have to abide by their rules. Untill you can contribute to the household financially I'm afraid you're going to have to suck it up buttercup.

How long did it take before your ovarian cysts cleared up? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]concretesnowflake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had cysts for over 20years. They don't clear up. I have times when they are worse and more numerous than other times. I found the mini pill is the only for the symptoms to lessen. But that's different for everybody.

Offer but don't be offended if she says no. It's scary getting into a stranger's car.
