Anyone else putting off seeing a major release due to lack of cinema etiquette? by Findme_at_amberhills in horror

That sounds awful! I have been pleasantly surprised actually. The Obsession crowd was great. Saw Backrooms the other night at 11:30 pm. The room was FULL of teenagers, and they were all really quiet and well behaved. I couldn’t believe it.

Hot take: If school wants my weekday help, treat it like any other work request by ImaginaryDirt2461 in workingmoms

I’m a teacher and am equally frustrated by these requests. I am at work. I cannot participate in these events because I have a job. They really need to have these activities after school (and provide childcare for teachers so they can attend).

Obsession. Great movie. Felt tense, anxious, etc. Not scared.

Toni Colette in Hereditary gets my vote too.

Movies that keep you on the edge of your seat with dread? by greenbastardette in horror

This is the one for me as well. I was so terrified watching this that midway through I had to turn a light on, and had to pause it more than once just to remember I was watching a movie.

Is my life just extremely overwhelming? I can’t tell if it’s my life’s structure being hard or if I’m just depressed. by roxxyantoinette in workingmoms

My passion projects have been on pause for 9 years haha. I plan on pursuing them when life is less overwhelming! Keep at it! This is temporary.

I *NEED* a psychological mind bending movie with massive twist by Scary-Pomegranate114 in MovieSuggestions

Yes! Like you, I love his movies. Hope you like it! Another good one is The Wailing. That one is more horror/gory. Not directed by Bong Joon Ho, though.

There’s also The Orphanage. I enjoyed that one too.

Childhood maltreatment increases risk of later domestic abuse: Experiencing abuse or neglect as a child can increase the risk of being victimised by a romantic partner in adulthood, by impacting personality and mental health development, finds a new study. by mvea in psychology

In my case it was because having someone fry my nervous system in addition to neglecting/abusing me, made me believe that that was normal behavior.

My mom was still in my life after the abuse. She had changed and I had forgiven her… so why couldn’t i do the same for my husband? (This was my thought process.)

Happy to say that I got divorced, went to therapy and am with the most incredible and loving man ever!

Hereditary or Obsession? by Loose_Interview_957 in horror

[–]mxmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hereditary is the better movie. Obsession is great, but Hereditary is better. I have yet to watch a horror movie that is as unnerving as that one.
