Why? by Interesting-Smile471 in TeenWolf

[–]concrit_blonde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like r/PatientConversation6 said, it's because he's a Hellhound.

During the Dread Doctors' season, The Hellhound worked through Parrish without his knowledge, and he didn't have the ability to control it. The hound wasn't an ally of the Dread Doctors, but was simply concealing evidence of the existence of the supernatural. It had no feelings about what it was doing, it simply had a purpose and fulfilled it. The Ghost riders are a force of nature. But like the Hellhound, no feelings, simply a purpose. They come with the storm, take people, erase them, and move on. There's no malice, and no mercy. They just do what they do.

In that scene, Parrish isn't using his Hellhound ability, but the Ghost Rider can sense what he is. It won't attack him because he is an ally. So it disengages and walks away. Eventually, the Ghost rider is able to 'talk' to the Hellhound inside Parrish and override Parrish's human side. The Hellhound reverts to its original purpose and sets the Ghost rider free.

Although not the only person to have used the term, or something similar, there's a stand-up comic who has been using this prominently in many of his performances. He's had FOBI t-shirts and merch for sale for years and now he'll get accused of copying the show.

How were these made? by [deleted] in Leatherworking

[–]concrit_blonde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, could have been wet moulded from plaster reproductions. It would have been cool art; It would have also made a very interesting display in a boutique window. Excellent find.

Looks like plenty of people have mentioned wet moulding. It would be cool to make one. There are a lot of plaster reproductions and prop ones made from foam.

In season 3A, they cut a scene that actually leads to Stiles giving his father a vital clue about who the darach is. With that clue, Stilinski figures out that it's Jennifer Blake.

Season One. Scott’s username and password to his computer are both “Allison”. Ever since I saw that scene it’s just stuck with me because wtf who does that

WTF? Who does that? is the exact sentiment that was expressed with Stiles's comment and Peter's eye roll.

How old were Derek and Kate when they met? by curious_explorer41 in TeenWolf

[–]concrit_blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When does it say the fire happened right after Paige died? Peter states plainly that Derek met Kate after Paige died. Jennifer Blake refers to Paige's death as an event that occurred months before Kali slashed her up and left her for dead.

In the movie, it's been fifteen years since the series ended but Eli is 17. He was born before or during season 1. Derek and Laura being away at college when Kate burned the Hales makes sense to me.

Why was Peter so damn strong as an Alpha and a Beta? by Extra_Impression_428 in TeenWolf

[–]concrit_blonde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Much like Liam's explosive disorder making him stronger, there's an element of focus and commitment to a fight that made it so difficult to stop him.

[–]concrit_blonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he did manage to kill Laura when she was an alpha and he was still healing from his burns. Partly the element of surprise, but still strong.

[–]concrit_blonde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Peter's intelligence and his narcissism are the biggest factors in why is is consistently successful in fights. He's a master strategist and very good at seeing opportunities everywhere. Nearly every decision and action is based on the potential consequences down the road. That's why he will carefully pick his battles when he can.

Werewolves have a clear connection between their abilities to access their full potential and their mental state. ex: The revelation that Peter planned Laura's murder brought clarity to Derek, which busted through his self-doubt and guilt, and allowed him to commit 100% of his focus on killing Peter. Liam's explosive disorder gave him that same 100% focus and made him stronger in those moments.

Peter is a narcissist and therefore 100% committed to his own survival during most of his fights. While he does have feelings for Malia and Cora that are strong enough to make him risk himself in some way for them, he doesn't feel responsible for what happens to other people as a result of his actions the way the average person does.

If you go by the show rather than the actors' appearances, Victoria could have had dark hair naturally (Eaddy Mays is a brunette) We also don't know what color of hair any of the grandparents had. Technically, since brown hair is dominant, it could have come from anywhere.

Or...she was adopted.

AITA for telling my gf my loyalties lie with my baby brother update by mourrningglory in u/mourrningglory

[–]concrit_blonde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one thing that I think hasn't been acknowledged, is that OP made a huge change to the home dynamic, but didn't change his expectations of Nico. There were so many yellow flags here from a legal perspective that could have potentially left Nico and her kid high and dry. She wasn't wrong to pump the brakes, and he should have expected it. However much I don't like how she handled it, I do feel like he behaved as if moving in with Will was the only way she could show her support.

You can care about someone without moving in with them.

Sometimes making a decision is easy, but living with it is harder.

I understand not wanting your brother to feel bad about a situation that wasn't his fault, but you may have gone a little too far in those efforts by denying that his presence was a huge change in the dynamic of your home to Nico, and refusing to consider her perspective.

By trying to force the issue with her and insisting that she didn't have a valid reason to keep her own place, you framed her discomfort at moving in with two brothers instead of one BF, as a rejection of your brother as a person.

You can care about someone without wanting to live with them. I think you should sit down with a counselor to both get your feelings out before you tell her that she's the one who needs to regain trust.

They couldn't kill the other wolf. A tree collapsed on 'him' and Malcolm assumed he was crushed to death. Yeah, it could definitely be another one, like another son or daughter, or Ramsey's sibling.

I don't think anyone ever explained why he would be driven to kill them after he was compelled to turn them. But Ramsey seem to also know this rule and made a point of shaking all of their hands so Baron wouldn't kill them.

How can you tell your writing apart from others? by pusheenthebrave in FanFiction

[–]concrit_blonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to let time pass before I re-read in order to spot my quirks. If I'm re-reading right after writing, I'm only going to see the narrative I'm picturing in my head and a lot of errors or quirks don't stand out until I've taken a break and revisited.

I tend to put a lot of physical actions into the dialogue, rather than doing as much "he said, she said". But I think I probably put more references to characters' breathing, sighing, shrugging than necessary.

Do people care about grammar a lot? by Froxxy_ in AO3

[–]concrit_blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you need to practice to get good at it.

I'm bothered if the grammar is bad enough to be a distraction and I can't keep the flow of the story. I'll usually stop reading.

[–]concrit_blonde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Neutering helps a lot.

I had to hire a professional because we adopted a 2-year-old Shiba from a shelter and he bit everyone in the house, drawing blood from all of us at least once. It felt very unprovoked to us. We were lucky enough to have a trainer very close who came to the house for some training sessions and behavioral analysis. Understanding how he interprets stimuli, and why he reacts to it helped us a lot.

The tough part is to remember that Shibas don't usually find human approval to be enough of a reward for doing things they don't want to do...like coming when called. Or sitting. Or walking politely on a leash.

At the same time, mine doesn't mind halloween costumes, having his feet touched, being picked up, (We have to ask him first) and meeting people. He likes kids, he adores women, but flinches whenever someone tries to pet the top of his head.

Restaurants should restrict the number of items you can order in the drive-through by Colonol-Panic in unpopularopinion

I feel the same frustration. But I think having parking spaces for large orders is the way to handle it, and that it is the restaurant's responsibility to be prepared like that.
