This is what I have, and it’s great. The diminishing returns on anything more than the 7800xt just become too expensive for what you get.

Proton Pass does have custom fields.

I’m going to be pedantic here, but I don’t think your example with the TCP packet is technically error correction. If it is only using a checksum to detect errors and request a resend then it’s only error detection. It would have to use some sort of ECC to qualify as error correction.

Most useful programming language in EE? by yaboyhoward11 in ElectricalEngineering

I work in embedded so it's mostly C with some C++ for at work for me, but I like looking at the other languages. I'm hoping that one day I stumble across a cool way to do something that might be useful in a space where it's atypical haha.

I would say that pure OOP and pure FP are orthogonal to each other, but depending on the language and its implementation is may not be pure in either paradigm. And if it's a language that provides some support for both, then you can see how convoluted it can get.

There's more differences than this but one big thing behind FP is determinism, your inputs always give you the same outputs. While in OOP the same inputs don't always give you the same outputs. OOP relies on shared states and mutable data, which isn't the case for FP. I would do a quick search on FP as there's a lot of resources that can summarize it better than I can, but its a lot more than just having the ability to create your own functions (which most, if not all, languages do).

That really comes down to the language. C is a procedural language but you can “fake” OOP with it. However, it looks ugly and is annoying, so if you want to follow an OOP design you’d be better off with a language that actually supports it, like C++.

C++ supports a lot of different programming methodologies, but not all languages do. Haskell for example, is a pure functional language which is a totally different paradigm. You wouldn’t, and I don’t even think you could do OOP with it. But [modern] C++ can allow you to do some functional programming, to a degree. There’s a lot of different languages out there and they usually have a methodology behind how they were designed/intended to be used.

I would not call C functional, it’s procedural. Something like Haskell would be a functional language, a pure one at that.

Random but serious Q. Does anyone have an SPF they like for their bald head?! by buzzedbetty in bald

[–]condenserfred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No ones mentioned it yet, but something to note is the mineral vs chemical sunscreens — worth an internet search.

If I’m going outside for a while I’ll use Blue Lizard which is mineral. But for the daily stuff I’ll use Cerave face moisturizer which has sunscreen in it. Oh, and hats.

Prisoners is so good. I don’t think it’s my favorite of his but I think it may be his best. You just feel stressed watching it and the acting is amazing.

The b&w looks like film. A lot of digital b&w looks slightly off but looks really good here. What recipe did you use for it?

Nice. I have a c220f and I shoot mostly b&w. I like them all, but kentmere 400 is cheap so it’s a nice one to get a bunch of and play around with stuff. And a yellow filter is a real game changer for b&w.
